Orlando International Airport Experiencing Flight Delays & Cancellations Due To Huge Winter Storm

As predicted earlier this week, the huge winter storm making its way across the U.S. is already impacting holiday flights, with fears that travel chaos will impact the busiest travel period of the year.

Here in Orlando, with record numbers of travellers expected to transit through Orlando International Airport for the holidays, flights have already been delayed or cancelled all together.

MCO is advising anyone travelling in the next few days to check their flight status before travelling to the airport.

As of early Thursday morning, 10 flights were delayed and 22 were cancelled due to the storm, with many more expected due to what the National Weather Service is calling it a “once in a generation” storm.

Airport officials have said that Thursday is predicted to be the seventh busiest day of this holiday travel season, with a total of 158,000 people expected at the airport throughout the day.

With so many travellers expected to travel via MCO, the TSA security checkpoint lines inside the airport are already long today, Thursday, and the advice is to please be patient!
