Orlando Food Hall, The Hall on The Yard has permanently closed its doors owing unpaid rent

Ivanhoe Village upscale food hall, The Hall on The Yard has suddenly closed, with the landlord claiming the business owes a large amount of unpaid rent.


The Hall on The Yard located at Alden Road and Virginia Drive has permanently closed, with the business closing the doors yesterday, Thursday, April 18, 2024. with no warning to employees or customers.


It is believed that the landlord of the building, Ivanhoe Place Propco served a 5-day notice to The Hall on The Yard to vacate the premises due to unpaid rent.


According to News 6, a complaint has been filed by the hall’s landlord, Ivanhoe Place Propco, claiming that The Hall on The Yard owes $249,105.16 in rent, plus utilities.


The Hall on The Yard first opened for business on November 18, 2021, and at the time the business owners claimed it was the world’s first full-service food hall.


Home to a collection of 9 food offering, 3 bars, indoor and outdoor seating, plus various event spaces. The Hall on The Yard sub-leased the food offerings to various businesses.


The various food businesses have been named on the eviction notice but the owner of one of the businesses, Shay of Shay's Kitchen has taken to Facebook to explain their situation.

The Hall on the Yard website has been taken offline, although the company Facebook Page is still online, with no reference to the closure, having last posted in March.
