Orlando chocolate shop, ÔBON Chocolatier announces it's closure at East End Market

The concept from the family owned bakery, Light on the Sugar has now closed.

The chocolate shop concept, ÔBON Chocolatier which specialized in hand-crafted bon bons and artisanal treats has closed its doors just after a year from it's grand opening.

Light On The Sugar Bakery & Cafe, a family owned bakery with locations in Winter Park, Waterford Lakes, and Jacksonville, who owned the concept, announced the news via the ÔBON Chocolatier Instagram account.

ÔBON Chocolatier opened to much publicity in May last year, taking over the spot that has been home to Dochi, Dochi : Japanese Mochi Donuts and the artisan bakery, Olde Hearth Bread Company at East End Market in the Audubon Park Garden District of Orlando.

Announcing the sad news, ÔBON Chocolatier commented, "After a lot of thought, we have made the difficult decision to close OBON at the end of May." They went on to thank customers for their support, "Thank you to every single customer who walked through our doors, supported us, shared our desserts with friends and family, posted photos, waited in line, and gave us the opportunity to try building something special here. Your support truly meant everything to us."
