Juneteenth, also referred to as Emancipation Day or Freedom Day. has grown in popularity in recent years, and there is numerous celebrations and commemorations honoring this important day in history here in Orlando and throughout Central Florida.

June 14
This immersive experience delves into stories of resilence, achievement and cultural vibrancy that have shaped Central Florida. Paving Pathways is offering a unique opportunity to: Explore historic landmarks and neighborhoods that played a pivotal role in Central Florida's Black History. Learn about the invaluable contributions of Black leaders and innovators who have left a lasting impact on the community.
June 14
In honor of Juneteenth, the Hannibal Square Heritage Center invites the community to a special Open House commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth marks the historic day—June 19, 1865—when Union troops, led by Major General Gordon Granger, arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced that the Civil War had ended and all enslaved people were free. This moment came more than two years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.
Guests are invited to enjoy refreshments and take guided tours of the Heritage Center as we reflect on this important milestone in American history.

In celebration of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation, We The 3 Production Group would like to show honor to those who paved a way so we could be FREE in a land so far away from home. And to kick off the festivities we are hosting a Paint Party like no other on Saturday, June 14th, 2025, from 10 a.m. until Noon at the Howell Branch Preserve under the Pavilion. The address is 1205 W. Howell Branch Road in Winter Park.

From the creators of the hit off-Broadway show Josephine, this new musical explores the story of the extraordinary friendship between two of the most remarkable women of the 20th century: legendary singer, dancer, activist and spy Josephine Baker and Academy Award winner and European princess, Grace Kelly, Princess of Monaco.
Josie & Grace was the Winner of the Critic's Choice Award for Best Play, Musical at the 2021 Orlando International Fringe Festival.

Orange County Regional History Center presents “Jonestown’s Silent Remembrance – Uncovering the Legacy of Orlando’s First African American Community.” Sarah Boye will explore the hidden history of Orlando’s first African American community, Jonestown, through the life of Osborne Brooks, a former resident now buried in Greenwood Cemetery. His story reveals both the complexities of segregation-era Orlando and the enduring legacy of African American communities often overlooked in historical narratives. By examining the personal history of Brooks and the broader context of racial inequality, this presentation sheds light on the resilience of African American communities in Orlando and offers a unique perspective on local history.

Join us for a meaningful gathering that unites law enforcement professionals, community leaders, clergy members, activists, and influencers to share, reflect, and celebrate our collective journey—while enjoying food and fellowship.
This event will feature training focused on fostering positive and collaborative relationships, promoting transparency, and addressing systemic issues to enhance public safety, while awarding scholarships to high school seniors. Our keynote speaker, The Honorable James E.C. Perry (Retired), will explore this year’s theme: “A Legacy of Courage, Resilience, and Progress: The Road Beyond Freedom.”

Join Black Orlando Tech for our 2nd Annual Sunset Soiree: A Juneteenth Social & Networking Event at Grape & the Grain Wine Bar on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 6 pm to Sip, Play and Celebrate.
Grape & the Grain Wine Bar has both indoor and a covered outdoor patio space with fans, where we'll be hanging out, playing card games, big Jenga or dominoes with a glass of your favorite craft beer, wine, or their famous frosé in your hand while singing out loud to RnB or bouncing to the HipHop beat in the background. This event is curated for real community connection to lead to opportunities for everyone. A time will be had, but it is a cash bar, so drink you're grapes and grains responsibly.

Join us for the 5th Annual Facets of Freedom Juneteenth Festival, a vibrant celebration of heritage, history, and community! This year, the festival returns to the Orlando Family Stage in Loch Haven Park on June 19, 2025.
Kick off the day with our special Children's Juneteenth Lunch and Learn from 10 AM to 1 PM, featuring engaging readings of books about Juneteenth, art stations for creative expression, fun face painting, and exciting prize giveaways. This interactive experience will foster learning and celebration for our youngest attendees.
Throughout the day, enjoy live music on the outdoor stage featuring local artists and musicians, creating a lively atmosphere for all. Attendees can take a stroll through the Juneteenth market, which showcases local Black-owned businesses. Savor delicious offerings from a variety of Black-owned food trucks and vendors, showcasing mouthwatering cuisine that celebrates cultural flavors. Additionally, indulge in craft cocktails made with Black-owned spirits, providing a unique taste experience that honors our community.
As the evening approaches we will have musical performances, dance, and spoken word that showcase the richness of African American artistry and the resilience of our community. In addition, we will have a visual art exhibit featuring Black Central Florida artists, giving you an opportunity to appreciate their unique talents and perspectives as well as purchase local Black artwork. Performances will be held at 6 pm and 8pm in the Universal Theatre.
General admission is donation-based, allowing everyone to participate in this enriching celebration. Connect with the community, learn about the significance of Juneteenth, and celebrate the rich tapestry of African American history and culture. A Night Under the Stars: Jazz & Jubilee at Shady Park is back for Year 3—and this year’s celebration will be bigger, bolder, and more unforgettable than ever! Join us for the Third Annual Juneteenth Celebration in the heart of the historic African American community of Hannibal Square, presented by The City of Winter Park and The Equity Council Corp, a proud Black-owned nonprofit rooted in community service since 2018.

The Orlando International Film Festival will return to downtown Orlando’s Creative Village from June 19 – 22, 2025, showcasing 240 films from 45 countries. The festival will feature special Juneteenth programming on opening day.

Join the city of Winter Garden who will host their annual Juneteenth Community Celebration in the downtown historic district. The celebration includes family-friendly activities, entertainment, community resource booths, a variety of food & merchandise for sale, and more!
Limited seating available. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome to sit back and enjoy the festivities.

LGBTQ+ nonprofit Come Out With Pride Orlando will host their first ever Juneteenth Pride Celebration at the Central Florida Fairgrounds. This free, family-friendly event will honor the history of Juneteenth while providing a space for Black queer and trans voices to shine. Explore dynamic live performances by Black LGBTQIA+ artists, hear from inspiring speakers and storytellers, shop Black-owned businesses and LGBTQIA+ vendors, and enjoy food trucks, a dance floor and more.

June 28
Come to Simpson Park Community Center on Martin L King Junior Avenue in Lakeland, for a day of celebration and reflection. This in-person event will feature live music, food vendors, historical exhibits, and more.
