Jesse McCartney has always had a voice that could stop time. But in 2025, he’s not looking back—he’s chasing the feeling of what comes next. With his new single “Trip” and  The Weightless Tour launching this fall, McCartney steps into an era defined by emotional gravity and creative freedom, now grounded in the most personal transformation of all: fatherhood.

“Trip” is a lush, slow-burning meditation on falling—into love, into change, into something you can’t quite control. With echoing guitars, heartbeat percussion, and a falsetto that floats just above the clouds, McCartney captures that moment where surrender feels like salvation. The song doesn’t beg for attention—it pulls you in, gently and completely.

This new chapter builds on the momentum of 2024’s All’s Well, his critically acclaimed independent EP. Fusing vintage R&B flair with modern emotional transparency, the record featured standout tracks like “Faux Fur” and “Make a Baby” (with Yung Gravy), and ushered in the highly successful All’s Well Tour—a coast-to-coast run that reaffirmed McCartney’s place in the pop landscape with packed venues and glowing fan response.

Now, The Weightless Tour launches September 30 in Washington, D.C., introducing a new setlist and a new emotional lens. With McCartney now a father, the themes of surrender, growth, and reinvention in his latest work take on greater weight—and greater lightness. The shows will bridge his fan-favorite classics with the dreamier textures of his recent material, offering a soundtrack for change, connection, and letting go.

“‘Weightless’ is about letting go of things or people that have weighed you down and left you stuck in old patterns,” McCartney says. “I’m doing the work to shed some of the old fears, old expectations, old versions of myself, so I can carry the weight of being a father, the most important thing that will ever happen in my life.”
