Iconic Daytona Beach Shores Pier Seriously Damaged by Hurricane Ian

Hurricane Ian has destroyed a section of the iconic Sunglow Pier in Daytona Beach Shores, with a large section of the pier washed away during the storm.

It is not know if the remaining sections of the pier are structurally safe or not, including the Crabby Joe's Restaurant.

The Sunglow Pier is Daytona’s other pier, smaller and newer than the Daytona Beach Pier but still a popular attraction.

The pier was built in 1960 and rebuilt in the late 1980s, before this damage it used to stretch 950 feet over the waves. It is privately owned, home to Crabby Joe’s Restaurant, and still a destination for area anglers, with the section washed away being the area of the pier anglers would use.

We have shared a picture here showing the section of the pier that has washed away.
