“Shucked” is a charmingly corny Broadway musical, full of laughs, great tunes and a whole lot of corn.

Dr Phillips Center has reached the end of the cob (and season!) The final show of the 24/25 AdventHealth Broadway in Orlando season is a shucking good-time.
SHUCKED is the Tony Award–winning musical comedy about an unlikely hero, a lovable con man, and an a-maize-ing battle for the heart and soil of Cob County.
The corniest musical on Broadway takes to the stage at Walt Disney Theater in Dr Phillips Center from June 24–29.

Featuring a book by Tony Award winner Robert Horn (Tootsie), a score by the Grammy Award–winning songwriting team of Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally (Kacey Musgraves’ “Follow Your Arrow”) and directed by Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien (Hairspray), this corn-fed, corn-bred American musical is sure to satisfy your appetite for great musical theater.
“Shucked” follows Maizy and Beau, sweethearts living in Cob County, who are forced to postpone their wedding when the corn that provides the economic lifeblood of their rural town begins to die. That sends Maizy on a quest to find help from an expert in Tampa (things do not go as planned). Critics liked the show, with Variety praising “its exuberance, heart and non-stop yucks” and declaring it the “surprise delight of the season.”
“’Shucked’ is a musical full of laughs, great tunes and a whole lot of corn.” said Mike Bosner, one of the show’s lead producers. “It was written from the heart and for the heartland. We could not be more excited to bring what audiences have been enjoying on Broadway to all our favorite cities across the country.”
