Get ready for a good ole' Honky Tonk Angels Holiday Hoedown in Orlando!
From November 14 - December 20, 2025, The Winter Park Playhouse resents the regional premier of Honky Tonk Angels Holiday Hoedown in the Mandell Theater at Orlando Shakes located at 812 E. Rollins Street, Orlando.
This upbeat musical comedy continues the escapades of beloved good ole country gals, The Honky Tonk Angels, as they reunite for a show at the Hillbilly Heaven Club in Nashville. With the holiday spirit in full force and a little bit of charming family drama, this joyful musical is full of popular holiday classics, a Motown Christmas medley, country hits like Dolly Parton's "Coat of Many Colors," fun comedy hits like "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" and much more!

The Honky Tonk Angels Cast
Tesia Kwarteng (Charliee Chess) is a versatile and multi-faceted Ghanaian-American artist who is equally at home on the stage, on screen, and in the studio. She made her Broadway debut as Lady Catherine in Camelot and her Off Broadway debut as Mayme and in the ensemble of Ricky Ian Gordon and Lynn Nottage’s Intimate Apparel at Lincoln Center Theater. Tesia made her principal debut at The Metropolitan Opera as a Pit Singer in Brett Dean’s Hamlet, covered the role of Ruby/Sinner Woman in Terence Blanchard’s Fire Shut Up In My Bones and was a featured soloist in the ensemble of the GRAMMY Award-winning production of Porgy and Bess. A few of her regional credits include Carmen at Opera Columbus, Maddalena in Rigoletto at Cincinnati Opera, Dynamite in Hairspray and a Nun in The Sound of Music at Casa Mañana Theater. In concert, she has been seen at 54 Below and as Consuelo in West Side Story at The Kennedy Center with the National Symphony Orchestra. Tesia also led and sang with the vocal ensemble Vox Noire on the recording of the original film score for The Woman King.
Rebecca Jo Lightfoot (Sue Ellen) is returning for her 8th show for Winter Park Playhouse, and she is ecstatic about being back to perform with her beautiful and talented family! Rebecca Jo has been in All Hands on Deck, Heartbeats, Christmas My Way, Pump Boys and Dinettes, The Bikinis, and Steppin out with Irvin Berlin here at WPPH. Sending kisses and love to Dany, her three beautiful boys, and family for all of their love and support. Thanks to the phenomenal duo, Roy and Heather, for including me in this production!
Hannah McGinley Lemasters (Angela Bodine) is thrilled to be appearing in her third mainstage with the Playhouse! You may also recognize her as a friendly voice when you call the box office! Originally from Franklin, TN, which is right outside Nashville, Hannah feels right at home in this countrified musical. Previously, she appeared on the WPP stage as Bella Rose in Desperate Measures and Eve in Ruthless. Other favorite roles include Annabel (Lucky Stiff), Audrey (Little Shop of Horrors), and Baker's Wife (Into the Woods). She'd like to thank her husband and friends for all their love and support here as well as her family for coming all the way from Nashville to see the show! Yeehaw and Happy Holidays, y'all!
Monica Titus (Darlene Purvis) is an Orlando based actress, and costume designer who was last seen performing here at the Winter Park Playhouse in her solo cabaret Behind the Seams! She is thrilled to be a part of this production, and to return to the world of Honky Tonk Angels! Previous Playhouse productions include: Darlene - Honky Tonk Angels, A Swingin’ Christmas, A Grand Night for Singing, and Some Enchanted Evening. Local performance credits include: Bitsy Mae - Sordid Lives, Marion - Bridges of Madison County (Theater West End), Rebecca - It Should Have Been You, Jenny - Company (The Studio Theatre Tierra del Sol), Mother - A Christmas Story the Musical, Spider - James and the Giant Peach, Maria - Lend Me a Tenor (Athens Theatre), and Yvonne/Harriet - Sunday in the Park with George (Mad Cow Theatre). Favorite local costume credits include: Wild Party (Theater West End), Ada and the Engine, Neighbors a Fair Trade Agreement, Assassins the Musical (The Studio Theater at Tiera del Sol), and Crazy for Gershwin, Shout! The Mod Musical, and 8 Track: The Sounds of the ‘70s (Winter Park Playhouse). She would like to thank you for supporting live theater and her loved ones for their continued support!
