A Day of Four Sunsets presents a new body of work by Miami-based artist Dennis Scholl, exploring the poetics of space exploration through assemblages of NASA memorabilia. The exhibition takes its title from astronaut John Glenn’s experience of witnessing four sunsets as he orbited Earth in 1962, evoking themes of time, memory, and the sublime vastness of the cosmos.

The Art Show Opening Receptipn on April 17 at Casselberry Arts Center is an opportunity specifically for the students in the University of Central Florida School of Visual Arts and Design (SVAD) MFA program. This exhibition provides participating artists with the opportunity to explore their practice beyond the studio and question the conventions of exhibition-making. Through public engagement, including an artist talk and a playful awards ceremony, the show creates a space where critique, evaluation, and interpretation are both visible and flexible.

Each year twenty-four professionally-acclaimed plein air artists will paint at the Polasek Museum and at other locations throughout Winter Park and Orlando. Art lovers are invited to watch the artists at work and attend free painting demonstrations. Artwork created during the Winter Park Paint Out will be on display as soon as they are completed and dropped off at the museum’s wet room. These wonderful paintings will be available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds going to support the Museum.
