Free Comics Book Day began in 2002, offering the community a fun, family-oriented event where everyone can find a comic they’ll enjoy. Chosen by retailers on the FCBD Committee, there’s a free comic book for everyone’s taste - from Spider-Man and the X-Men to Star Wars and One Piece to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Pokemon.

Comic books have been propelled to the front ranks of pop culture; many being adapted into movies and television, from the blockbuster Marvel Cinematic Universe to AMC’s The Walking Dead and Syfy’s Resident Alien. Many hit television, video game, motion picture and book properties have made a similar leap to comics, with adaptations and additions to the worlds of Star Wars, Doctor Who, Star Trek, James Bond, and Game of Thrones.

Titles announced for Free Comic Book Day 2025 include:

Archie Comics’ ARCHIE’S COMIC SPECTACULAR; Boom! Studios POWER RANGERS/VR TROOPERS; Dark Horse Comics’ CRITICAL ROLE: THE MIGHTY NEIN, and STAR WARS YOUNG JEDI ADVENTURES/AVATAR; Dynamite Entertainment’s DISNEY GARGOYLES: DEMONA, and THUNDERCATS/POWERPUFF GIRLS; IDW’s GODZILLA: THE NEW HEROES; Image Comics’ ENERGON UNIVERSE SPECIAL; Mad Cave Studios’ SPEED RACER; Marvel Comics’ FANTASTIC FOUR/X-MEN, IRONHEART/MARVEL VOICES, SPIDER-MAN/ULTIMATE UNIVERSE, and STAR WARS; Titan Comics’ CONAN THE BARBARIAN; and Viz Media’s MINECRAFT: THE MANGA.
