Woofie’s West Orlando has announced its opening to provide premium mobile pet services throughout West Orlando, including Kissimmee, Oakland, Ocoee, Orlando, Windermere, and Winter Garden. The franchise, owned and operated by local resident Tara Sobek, is hosting a grand opening celebration for owners and their dogs on Wednesday, November 15 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Winter Garden, at Home State Brewing Co.

Woofie’s West Orlando will host its family-and pet-friendly grand opening at Home State Brewing Company, with free drawings for a grooming valued at $100 and a pet gift basket (one ticket per guest with contact information); they will also offer discounted nail trims for dogs on a first come/first served basis, as time allows.

Woofie’s will be joined by Southern Cross Service Dogs, a non-profit that trains and provides service dogs for disabled veterans; Unleashed Rehab Canine Therapy and Wellness, providing physical rehabilitation for dogs after an injury or surgery; and Hot Dog Photography, professional photographers, offering $25 sittings for digital download of photos at the event, while time allows. Pet Wants will also provide dog treats (while supplies last). A portion of the proceeds from Woofie’s services during the event will be donated to Southern Cross Service Dogs. Please note: Dogs are required to be leashed at the event.

Woofie’s West Orlando provides mobile grooming, dog walking, daytime and overnight in-home or Bed & Biscuit pet sitting, and specialty services for dogs, cats, reptiles, guinea pigs, birds, and other pets.

Staff members are CPR-trained and have a passion for taking care of animals, providing confidence to pet owners that their pets are well-tended.

Previously an elementary school teacher for 20 years and then an instructional coach on training and curriculum for teachers and at the district level, Tara says her passion for hard work, empathy, experience in leading teams and managing customer service, and understanding of the love humans hold for pets have led to her founding Woofie’s West Orlando, with support from husband Jeremy.

“We have a deep commitment to this community and to animals. As local owners, we provide personalized service with a hometown feel, and have the advantage of also being part of a national franchise brand with Woofie’s,” said Tara. “We provide safe, caring services for dog, cat, and other pet owners who want someone to take care of their beloved pets in the same manner they would. We look forward to officially introducing Woofie’s West Orlando to the larger community at our grand opening event.”

Tara and Jeremy are parents to daughter Ella, who attends university and works at another Woofie’s franchise near where she goes to school. The family’s two “fur babies,” Roman, a mini-Australian Labradoodle, and Duncan, a Cavachon, are pictured on the Woofie’s West Orlando mobile van.

Woofie’s of West Orlando anticipates rapid growth; keep an eye out for pet sitter, groomer, bather and other job openings. See Tara and Jeremy for details.
