Enzian Theater announces the scary details for this spooky season's 13+ Films of Halloween!

Prepare for 35mm Cult Classics, Midnight Movies, Wednesday Night Pitcher Shows, and more, plus a spooky season of cocktails.
Great news for spooky season fans! Enzian Theater in Maitland has announced its 2026 lineup for "13+ Films of Halloween." A local Halloween tradition for many locals this year features an exciting and terrifying mix of 35mm Cult Classics, Midnight Movies, Wednesday Night Pitcher Shows, and more.
Seriously, this year’s lineup offers anniversaries, tributes, restorations, and classics for fans of all the scary, campy, or downright groovy films of the season.
This year' the kids can look forward to the return of the Enzian's Kid's Halloween Party, plus for the grown up's, themed cocktails are back throughout October at Eden Bar, culminating on October 31 with an evening full of subterranean scares as all manner of sewer-dwelling creatures claw their way out from beneath the manhole cover at this year’s Eden Bar Halloween Party!
“This year’s lineup reflects such an incredible breadth of what makes horror films so universal,” Enzian Programming Manager Tim Anderson commented on this years line-up.
Highlights this year include a screening of Masaki Kobayashi’s “Kwaidan,” the 1964 anthology film that won the Special Jury Prize at Cannes and earned an Academy Award nomination. The film will be shown on October 10th in a 4K restoration of the full three-hour Japanese cut, followed by an Enzian Film Club discussion led by Dr. Milt Moise of Rollins College.
Another 4K restoration film being screened is Mario Bava’s “A Bay of Blood” on October 17, the 1971 Italian giallo is credited with laying the groundwork for the slasher genre, again with Dr. Moise discussing Thomas Harris’s source novel.
Enzian’s 35mm print series brings three cult favorites to Enzian this year: “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2” on October 6, marking its 40th anniversary, “Resident Evil” on October 13, and “Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn” on October 27.
On October 25, Enzian partners with the Central Florida Composers Forum for “Nosferatu: Shadows and Sound,” a live performance of F.W. Murnau’s 1922 silent classic featuring a new original score composed by 14 members of the Forum and performed live by the Fernwood String Quartet.
Midnight Movies include “Possession” on October 3, “Frankenhooker” on October 10, “The Faculty” on October 17, and “Halloween II” (1981) on October 31.
Free Wednesday Night Picture Shows, screened outside on the Enzian lawn include “Scooby-Doo” (2002) on October 7, “The Covenant” on October 14 for its 20th anniversary, and “Corpse Bride” on October 21. The series also includes a mystery screening on October 28.
Popcorn Flicks in the Park, the outdoor movie screening series in Centra Park on Park Avenue, will feature “Monster House” on October 8 in association with the City of Winter Park.
In addition to the screenings, Eden Bar is once again pairing the film series with themed cocktails starting starting October 1.This year's "13 Cocktails of Halloween", including the Doppelgänger for “Possession,” Chop Top’s Old Fashioned for “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2,” and the Zydrate for “Repo! The Genetic Opera.”
New for film fans this year, you can pick up a 13+ Films and Cocktails of Halloween punch card at the Enzian Box Office earning a punch for every screening attended, with bonus punches for Eden Bar’s Halloween cocktail orders. Completed cards are entered into a drawing for a $100 bar tab or an annual Enzian membership.

Sam Neill Tribute! 45th Anniversary! 45-years on, Andrzej Żuławski's Possession remains one of the most shocking, emotionally devastating, and utterly unclassifiable horror films ever made. Presented in a new 4K restoration, this legendary film stars Sam Neill in one of his most fearless performances as Mark, a spy returning home to Berlin only to discover that his wife, Anna (the astonishing Isabelle Adjani), wants a divorce. What begins as a fractured marriage spirals into obsession, paranoia, madness, and unimaginable horrors as Mark uncovers the terrifying secret consuming Anna's life.

Screening as part of Enzian's 13+ Films of Halloween - 35mm Screening! 40th Anniversary! Forty years after it first revved its engine on screen, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2remains one of horror's most gloriously unexpected sequels. Released in 1986, director Tobe Hooper took the grim terror of his legendary 1974 classic and cranked everything to 11, infusing it with a wicked blast of black comedy, an untethered collection of eccentric performances, and an arterial-spray carnival of ‘80s excess that shocked audiences expecting just another by-the-numbers slasher film.

These screenings occur in Central Park, Winter Park once a month and are FREE and open to the public! Are you ready for some spooky fun under the stars? Screening as part of Enzian's 13+ Films of Halloween - New 4K Restoration! Original Japanese Cut! Featuring an Enzian Film Club discussion with Dr. Milt Moise of Rollins College. A haunting masterpiece of world cinema, Kwaidan remains one of the most visually astonishing horror films ever made. Directed by the legendary Japanese filmmaker Masaki Kobayashi (Harakiri) and based on the collected folklore Lafcadio Hearn, this anthology film presents four supernatural tales: a doomed samurai haunted by his past, a snow spirit's deadly bargain, a blind musician performing for the dead, and a mysterious encounter with a man who cannot stop smiling.

Screening as part of Enzian's 13+ Films of Halloween - If Mary Shelley and John Waters had a baby, it might look something like Frank Henenlotter's gloriously demented Frankenhooker. Following the cult hits Basket Caseand Brain Damage, Henenlotter doubled down on his obsession of lovable weirdos with a movie that asks the important question: “What if Frankenstein built his bride out of New York's finest streetwalkers...with the help of a little drug called Supercrack?”

Screening as part of Enzian's 13+ Films of Halloween - Anthony Stewart Head Tribute “Zydrate comes in a little glass vial…” In the not-so-distant future, organ failure has become a booming business and, if you miss a payment, the Repo Man comes calling. Unleashed in 2008, Repo! The Gentic Opera is a blood-soaked saga of family secrets, corporate greed, forbidden love, and surgical addiction, all delivered through wall-to-wall original songs like some goth phantasmagoria come to neon-soaked life.
October 13
Screening as part of Enzian's 13+ Films of Halloween - 35mm Screening! In 1996, Capcom unleashed Resident Evil, one of the most influential horror games ever created. Almost immediately after the game's success, Hollywood studios expressed interest in adapting the game to film. George A. Romero (whose “Living Dead” trilogy had directly inspired the games) was hired to write and direct a feature adaptation. Ultimately, Romero’s script was rejected out of fear it was too faithful to the game and not commercial enough. Following the directors departure, Paul W. S. Anderson was brought in to create a completely new version. Rather than adapting the first game scene-for-scene, Anderson created Alice (portrayed by Milla Jovovich), who awakens inside the secret Hive laboratory beneath Raccoon City. And thus the franchise was born.

Screening as part of Enzian's 13+ Films of Halloween - New 4K Restoration! Featuring a Book to Big Screen discussion with Dr. Milt Moise of Rollins College. A retired criminal profiler (William Petersen) reluctantly returns to the FBI to help track down a serial killer of families and is forced to consult an expert—the imprisoned Dr. Hannibal Lecktor (Brian Cox in a subtly chilling performance). The third feature written and directed by Michael Mann is a gripping adaptation of “Red Dragon”, the first of Thomas Harris's four novels featuring the iconic murderer Lecktor, and benefits from the filmmaker's typically striking visuals as well as a top-notch supporting cast, including Tom Noonan as the hunted killer and three-time Oscar® nominee Joan Allen as his blind love interest.

Screening as part of Enzian's 13+ Films of Halloween - Fresh off the release of the vampire/western mash-up From Dusk Till Dawn, indie film bad boy Robert Rodriguez delivered one of the most reverential and entertaining sci-fi horror films of the ‘90s. Written by Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer scribe Kevin Williamson, The Faculty is a love letter to paranoid classics like Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Thing, Class of 1999 and even Hello Mary Lou, Prom Night 2.

It’s time for Enzian’s annual Kids Halloween Party, and this year we’ve got a hare-raising adventure the whole family will love! Join everyone's favorite inventor-and-dog duo, Wallace and Gromit, in the Academy Award®-winning Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. As the annual Giant Vegetable Competition approaches, the town is plagued by a mysterious creature devouring prized gardens under the cover of darkness. With their humane pest-control business, Anti-Pesto, in high demand, Wallace and Gromit set out to solve the mystery. But when an experiment goes hilariously wrong, they discover the culprit may be closer than they ever imagined! Screening as part of Enzian's 13+ Films of Halloween - John Carpenter's mind-bending "Apocalypse Trilogy" (The Thing and Prince of Darkness) reaches a terrifying conclusion with In the Mouth of Madness, presented in glorious 35mm as we pay tribute to the great Sam Neill. Fresh off the massive global success of Jurassic Park, Neill delivers one of the most intense performances of his career (named his best by The Guardian in 2025) as cynical insurance investigator John Trent, who is hired to locate the missing bestselling horror author Sutter Cane (Jürgen Prochnow, The Keep), whose books have become a worldwide obsession. Trent's investigation soon leads him to the eerie town of Hobb's End, where the line between fiction and reality begins to dissolve, unleashing monstrous creatures, impossible horrors, and the terrifying realization that Cane's stories aren't predicting the apocalypse, they're creating it.

Screening as part of Enzian's 13+ Films of Halloween - New 4K Restoration! 55th Anniversary! Long before masked killers stalked summer camps or suburban streets, Mario Bava rewrote the rules of horror with A Bay of Blood. Having established the Giallo genre with 1964’s Blood and Black Lace, Bava pushed cinematic violence into shocking new territory with this gleefully vicious tale of greed, betrayal, and murder set around a secluded lakeside estate. When a wealthy countess dies under mysterious circumstances, a parade of scheming heirs, opportunists, and unsuspecting visitors descend upon the property, only to discover that everyone is a target.

Screening as part of Enzian's 13+ Films of Halloween - Presented in partnership with the Central Florida Composers Forum. Featuring a live performance from the Fernwood String Quartet! One hundred years after it first crept from the shadows, F.W. Murnau’s Nosferatu remains one of the most haunting and influential films ever made. Released in 1922, this unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula transformed the vampire from a charismatic aristocrat into a nightmare figure, giving cinema one of its most unforgettable monsters in the form of Count Orlok, portrayed by the eerily unforgettable Max Schreck. Directed during the height of the German Expressionism movement, Nosferatu follows the doomed real-estate agent Thomas Hutter as he travels to Transylvania and unwittingly unleashes an ancient evil upon his hometown. Through distorted architecture, ghostly imagery, and groundbreaking visual effects, Murnau crafted a work that still feels unsettling a century later.

Screening as part of Enzian's 13+ Films of Halloween - 35mm Screening! After the original The Evil Dead shocked audiences with its raw brutality and practical FX carnage, director Sam Raimi returned in 1987 with something even stranger: part sequel, part remake, and all-out hilarity. Bruce Campbell cements his status as horror's greatest everyman; Ash Williams, whose romantic getaway quickly devolves into an avalanche of demonic possessions, severed limbs, homicidal furniture, and some of the shadiest taxidermy ever committed to celluloid. Armed with a chainsaw, a "groovy" attitude, and increasingly questionable mental stability, Ash battles the forces unleashed by the ancient Necronomicon in a film that effortlessly blends Grand Guignol gore, Three Stooges-style physical comedy, and breakneck camera work unlike anything horrorhounds had seen before.

Screening as part of Enzian's 13+ Films of Halloween - 45th Anniversary! John Carpenter's Halloween may have introduced us to the Boogeyman, but Halloween IIcemented Michael Myers as legend. Picking up immediately after the chilling final moments of the original, director Rick Rosenthal, working from a screenplay by John Carpenter and Debra Hill, traps audiences inside the darkened corridors of Haddonfield Memorial Hospital as the seemingly unstoppable Shape continues his relentless pursuit of Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis). With Donald Pleasence returning as the obsessive Dr. Loomis, the night that never ends becomes bloodier, more suspenseful, and even more terrifying.
October 31
Venture beyond the turnstile and prepare yourself for an evening full of subterranean scares! All manner of sewer-dwelling creatures have clawed their way out from beneath the manhole cover to wreak havoc on the ghouls and gals of Central Florida. Dress to impress in your best costume and party with your friends until you reach the end of the line.
