This April, Orange County is celebrating our planet all month-long. During Earth Month, they are hosting a variety of engaging events designed to inspire action, foster education, and promote environmentally-friendly practices. From eco-scavenger hunts and Florida-Friendly landscaping to water conservation workshops, there's something for everyone to enjoy while making a positive impact on our environment.


Events and activities will be both in-person and virtual. This collaborative celebration is presented in partnership among various Orange County departments and divisions including the Office of Sustainability and Resilience, Environmental Protection, Utilities, Parks and Recreation, Orange County Convention Center and UF/IFAS Extension.



Mount Dora Earth Day - Planet vs. Plastics

Celebrate the Earth at the annual Mount Dora Earth Day Celebration in Donnelly Park, 148 Charles Ave, Mount Dora with plant and craft vendors, children's projects, fun workshops and more. Proceeds go toward purchasing and planting trees locally.



City of Sanford's Earth Day Love your Mother Festival

April 13

Join the 4th Annual Love Your Mother Festival - Historic Downtown Sanford's Earth Day celebration. On Saturday, April 13, come by the Deviant Wolfe Brewing taproom to learn about local environmental nonprofit organizations and peruse 20+ Earth-friendly vendors at our Love Your Mother market in front of the brewery on 1st Street.


There will be fun Earth Day activities for the kiddos, Live Music, The Avian Reconditioning Center will have live birds in the taproom, Wildlife Art Show, Tons of Eats, Treats, and sweets, plus visit with Tarflower Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society, UCF Marine Turtle Research Group. UF/IFAS Extension, Central Florida Zoo, Florida Trail Association, St. Johns Riverkeeper, Ideas for Us Orlando, and more!



Earth Day Community Cleanup

In honor of Earth Day, Rep. Anna V. Eskamani is joining forces with Rep. LaVon Bracy Davis as well as O-Town Compost, to host a community clean up! They will be be taking action in their shared vision of a cleaner and more beautiful world, and you are invited, too!


The’ll supply all the clean up tools you need, though they ask that you dress comfortably with closed-toe shoes. You’re encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated and reduce plastic waste. They will be meeting in Orlando; please RSVP for exact address!



Element Earth- An Immersive Experience

Audubon Center's Earth Day Puzzle Trail

The Audubon Center for Birds of Prey is hosting a special Earth Day weekend-long event as part of Audubon Florida's Birdathon! Love escape rooms? Participate in this escape room-style adventure to learn about raptors and conservation! Guests will solve a series of puzzles as they move around the Center and win a prize at the end.


This activity is included with Center admission and appropriate for all ages. Kids under 13 may need adult assistance to solve all puzzles.



Earthday Birthday 2024

Join upwards of 15,000 rock fans as Orlando's rock station, 101.1 WJRR once again celebrates Earth Day with its huge annual rock festival at the Orlando Amphitheater within the Central Florida Fairgrounds on Saturday, April 20, 2024.


WJRR's Earthday Birthday 2024 features an impressive line up including headliners, Staind, Seether, and Asking Alexandria, plus Dayseeker, Ayron Jones, Fozzy, Tim Montana, Austin Meade, Soil, Sleep Theory, Jimmie's Chicken Shack and more to be announced!


The festival will include an art walk, vendors, food trucks and more. Tickets are available online now. General admission tickets are $85, with VIP options available.

St John's River Clean Up

St. Johns River Cleanup
April 20

The 2024 St. Johns River Cleanup will take place 8 am - 11 am. This will be a perfect day to show the river some love by helping to remove trash from the waterway and the surrounding land to prevent it from washing into the water.


There will be a free giveaway of a zippered tote for those volunteers older than eight years of age, and a stuffed otter for the younger participants.


The annual cleanup, coordinated by Volusia County’s Environmental Management Division, draws attention to the river’s environmental importance and helps to keep the waterway safe and clean for animals and people who enjoy swimming and water sports.



Clermont Earth Day Celebration and Lake Cleanup

Join the city of Clermont at Lake Hiawatha for this free way to celebrate Earth Day as a community. Featuring a Lake Clean up with Environmental education, kids zone, DJ, and more! 




FREE Earth Day Family Day at Art & History Museums of Maitland
April 20

Families are invited to celebrate "home sweet home" at A&H's FREE Earth Day Family Day where children can play with colors and patterns while using paint to "print" their own free tote bags with recycled objects! There will be lots of other Earth Day inspired craft stations too, plus coloring and still life tables!


Families can also explore ther campus, orignially built as an artist colony almost 100 years ago, with an Earth Day themed scavenger hunt. There will be other surprises too - free face painting and complementary admission to two museums!

St Cloud Earth Day Celebration

Join the Osceola Library in partnership with the City of St. Cloud at Veterans Memorial Library - St. Cloud Branch for a free, family-friendly Earth Day Celebration event on Saturday, April 20, beginning at 10 am.


The celebration will feature environmental exhibitors, crafts for all ages, food trucks, eco-friendly presentations, face painting, free tree giveaways, bounce house, and so much more! Don’t forget to stop In to see Sami the Sandhill and Smokey the Bear!

Central Florida Zoo Party For The Planet

Join Central Florida Zoo for the largest combined Earth Day celebration in North America! The Zoo will have interactive activities, crafts and games that represent our love for the planet, including the chance to build a ‘Toad Abode’ for some helpful local wildlife at your own house!


This is a party you don’t want to miss. By the time you leave, you’ll feel connected to nature and immersed in conservation. Let’s take action and celebrate!


The Zoo will open to the public at 9 a.m., and the Party for the Planet will continue until 3 p.m.

Let's keep The Milk District trash-free and beautiful. Join The Milk District, local business partners, and Keep Orlando Beautiful in helping keep ther area looking great! Start off the morning at 9 am by checking in at registration, picking up your supplies.


Everyone will break up into groups and head out from the host business, cleaning up discarded trash, cigarette butts, microplastics, and other litter that could enter our local waterways.


To celebrate the good work you’ve done, enjoy a freebie from a Milk District business! People of all ages are invited to participate. All supplies will be provided.

City District and Parramore Main Streets are joining forces to co-host their first Earth Day Clean-Up

City District and Parramore Main Streets are joining forces to co-host their first Earth Day Clean-Up alongside Orlando City Soccer Club, Pride and the MLS for their Greener Goals Week to celebrate Earth Day.


Join a fun day of beautifying downtown Orlando and the Parramore District. Meet at 9 am at the tailgating lot at Inter&Co Stadium. Check in at the registration table, grab some breakfast and beverages and snag a volunteer t-shirt.


At 9:45 am, everyone will break into teams and hit the streets. Each team will be given tasks and an area of focus. All supplies will be provided by the Keep Orlando Beautiful team.


At 11:45m, meet back up at the check-in location to return equipment and supplies.


This event is great for all ages, so bring out your friends, family, or anyone you know who wants to help beautify the heart of our city! Plus, organizers will be giving away tickets to an upcoming Orlando City Pride match.



Earth Month 2024 Walk - Orlando

Join Aveda Florida for a 'Walk for Water' event on April 21, 2024 at 10 am. This event is dedicated to raising awareness for the global water crisis. Bring your friends, family, and furry companions to walk and help make a difference in the world. This is a free event located at Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake in Orlando. The walk is 3.7 miles (the average distance women in communities without clean water walk daily to a water source). Let's walk together for clean water!

Run for the Trees 5K at Ward Park

The City of Winter Park and Track Shack's Run for the Trees 5k run/walk is a unique point to point event. The last mile is on the tree-canopied, wilderness dirt road of Genius Drive. This privately owned glimpse of old Florida is opened to the public only once a year, for this event. All in person finishers receive a young tree! Event Highlights: FREE Kids' Run, Ward & Wellbeing Earth Day Block Party, Spectacular Course, Gender Specific Shirt, Cupless Event, B-Tag Timed 5k, Tree Sapling (In person finishers), Arbor Day Tree Giveaway, Green partners & city folk, Sustainable giveaways, Kids’ green activities, FREE Kona Ice®, and more! Keeping Central Florida Fit is our mission. Walkers are encouraged to participate in all Track Shack races. The City of Orlando encourages runners and walkers in this 5k to complete 3.1 miles.



City of Casselberry's Earthfest April 27

Earth Fest 2024 will be held on Saturday, April 27. Highlights include a FREE Tree Giveaway, planting workshops, Drop Savers Award Ceremony, Recycled Art Show, live music, butterfly releases, fun kids activities and lots more! This event is Central Florida's second largest environmentally friendly festival. Attendees will enjoy plenty of earth-friendly booths, fabulous healthy food vendors, and live music.



EARTHDAY.ORG is committed to end plastics for the sake of human and planetary health, demanding a 60% reduction in the production of ALL plastics by 2040.


This years Earth Day theme, Planet vs. Plastics, calls to advocate for widespread awareness on the health risk of plastics, rapidly phase out all single use plastics, urgently push for a strong UN Treaty on Plastic Pollution, and demand an end to fast fashion.
