Dr. Phillips Center unveils History Walk celebrating 10 Years of cultural impact in Orlando

In continuing its 10th anniversary celebration, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts unveils a History Walk, a colorful installation of images that honors the people, performances and progress shaping the venue’s first decade. Since opening on November 6, 2014, the arts center has delivered on its mission to be an inspiring place where people love to be and on its vision of Arts For Every Life, becoming a cultural hub in Central Florida.

In its first decade, the arts center has hosted more than 5,000 performances and 2,700 events, contributed more than $190 million annually to the local economy, welcomed over five million guests and given back more than $22.8 million in the community through education, accessibility and arts & wellness initiatives.

"Ten years ago, we promised to be an inspiring place where people love to be,” saidKathy Ramsberger, president & CEO of Dr. Phillips Center. “Walking through this exhibit, seeing families at their first Broadway show, students discovering their passion, artists finding their stage—that's when you realize this place is more than a theater, we built a cultural heartbeat for Central Florida."

Check out the latest theater and performing arts news from throughout Central Florida.

Running alongside the Grand Staircase from tier two to tier four, the History Walk guides guests through a living timeline of construction milestones, grand openings, community programs and cultural firsts. It invites every visitor to relive defining moments and celebrate a story that keeps evolving.

The journey begins on tier two with the vision’s earliest steps, from initial funding approvals to the art center’s grand opening. On tier three, guests revisit milestones such as the debut of Steinmetz Hall, the launch of STROKESTRA and the 10th Annual Applause Awards. Tier four concludes the walk with a look at Dr. Phillip Center’s impact by the numbers, all driven by our commitment to Arts For Every Life .
