Experience the timeless brilliance of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony performed by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, May 11, and Sunday, May 12, 2024, with two shows on the Saturday, and one show on the Sunday.


Mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton sings Mahler’s five-part Lieder for voice based on lyric romantic poems and the simple melodic lines will leave you with complex emotions.



Experience the timeless brilliance of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony, a monumental masterpiece often described as “one of the most important works of all time.”


The four-note opening motif, da-da-da-dum, is an iconic musical moment synonymous with fate knocking at the door. Beethoven’s Fifth will immerse you in the symphony’s rich tapestry of dynamic contrast and keep you on the edge of your seat until the piece concludes with a roaring presto. Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphosis is based on themes by Weber, originally intended to be used for ballet. Artistic differences between the two ended with this piece redone as performed today, it was premiered by the New York Philharmonic in 1944.
