Coliseum Of Comics gathers the greatest pumpkins ever for spooky industry fundraiser!
Halloween-Themed Art Projects to be auctioned for Comics Charities
Coliseum of Comics today announced their Great Pumpkin Patch fundraiser, a unique Halloween-themed auction event to support the Hero Initiative and the Book Industry Charitable Foundation.
Coliseum has been sending artificial pumpkins to industry artists, who will be transforming the fake gourds with their art. Once they’ve been returned to the comic chain’s headquarters, the seasonal decorations will be auctioned off via eBay, with 100% of the proceeds split between the two charities. Coliseum will absorb all costs associated with this event.
Founded in 2000, the Hero Initiative is a charity for comic book creators, providing financial, medical, and career support when unexpected hardships arise. The Book Industry Charitable Foundation (BINC) - established in 1996 - aids bookstores and comic shops and their employees who have a demonstrated financial need arising from hardship or emergencies.
“We wanted to do something fun to support these two great charities,” Coliseum of Comics owner Phil Boyle said. “With these artists’ original work in high demand, we expect fans to want these unique Halloween pieces.”
The auctions are currently scheduled to begin on Coliseum of Comics’ eBay store - https://www.ebay.com/str/coliseumofcomicswarehouse - on October 10th.
Artists slated to participate include Jeffrey Brown, Mark Buckingham, Kieron Dwyer, Megan Hutchison, Joseph Michael Linsner, Mike McKone, Adriana Melo, Graham Nolan, Tim Seeley, and Andy Smith.
