The popular Chicago fast-casual restaurant chain that focuses on subs and milkshakes is opening a new location in Lady Lake.
Back in January, the franchise-based Potbelly Sandwich Shop, the iconic neighborhood sandwich shop opened its first location in Orlando, marking the brand’s entry into the Central Florida market.
Located at 2714 East Colonial Drive in the Milk District, this franchised location is the first of twelve planned locations in a multi-unit agreement between Potbelly and Sugarland Investment Group, LLC, which plans to open the new locations over a seven year period.

The new quick-serve restaurant is set to open at 870 US-27, Lady Lake, and although an openin date has not been announced, the restaurant is currently being fitted out.
This new franchise agreement is for five locations across Lake, Marion and Sumter Counties.
Potbelly is a neighborhood sandwich concept offering toasty sandwiches, signature salads, hand-scooped ice cream in creamy shakes, customized just the way customers want them.
Since opening its first shop in Chicago in 1977, Potbelly has expanded to neighborhoods across the country, and currently operate 663 locations nationwide through 33 franchise groups.
This year, Potbelly expects to open at least 30 new locations including Wilmington, North Carolina, and Springfield, Illinois.
In 2025 they plan to open 50+ locationsduring the first half of 2025, with 32 locations in Florida, North Carolina, Illinois, South Carolina, Texas and Utah during the first quarter of 2025 and 22 stores in Arkansas, Georgia and Kentucky in the second quarter.
