Central Florida artist Gillian Fazio creates “The Empress” in honor of Women’s History Month at the Disney Springs Art Walk

Local artist Gillian Fazio has created a new mural, “The Empress” in honor of Women’s History Month at the Disney Springs Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression at Walt Disney World.

If you’re visiting Walt Disney World Resort, there’s a gorgeous addition to the Disney Springs Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression celebrating the achievements and stories of women throughout history.

The new mural has been created by local Lakeland artist Gillian Fazio, with “The Empress” commissioned in honor of Women’s History Month, as part of Walt Disney World's “Celebrate HER Story.”

Gillian Fazio is a lakeland based artist, muralist, and creative, who received her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from the University of Florida.

With a concentration in painting at UF, her art flourished and her dreams became larger than life, painting on anything from large scale canvases to massive murals.

Gillian's focus as an artist is reflecting the soul and spirit of flora and fauna, allowing the viewer to appreciate the subject outside of a realistic landscape and into a new space where nature and culture have a balanced and symbiotic relationship.

Now via her own company, GFazioArt, Gillian gets to travel, painting murals with all the colors of the wind.

The Disney Springs Art Walk features both local artists and artists from around the globe who create murals bursting with color, emotion and the spirit of their cultures.

The next time you visit Disney Springs, take the time to check out the Art Walk, where you can view the amazing artworks from these talented artists.
