Celebrate the end of summer at Wekiva Island as they bring the Aloha spirit with Kona Luau

Wekiva Island is bringing the Aloha spirit in September with the return of its beloved Kona Luau.

The Luau will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Wekiva Island.

Guests should don their favorite Hawaiian shirt for this trip to the “islands” to close out summer.

Festivities kick off at 7 p.m. with a hula hoop contest. Then, at 7:30 p.m., prepare to be dazzled by a live performance by fire dancers. Immediately after, guests who want to show how low they can go can enter the limbo contest.

There will also be $25 buckets of Kona Big Wave and $4 Big Wave drafts, as well as giveaways and décor to set the vibe for the night.

The annual event celebrates the season and honors Wekiva Island’s anniversary; this is the 15th year for the Central Florida favorite.

“This is one of our favorite events every year,” said Carrie Vanderhoef, manager. “It’s a fun way to send off summer and to mark another great year at Wekiva Island. You can’t miss the fire dancers!”

Admission to Wekiva Island is $5, but the event is free. Tickets are not required.
