As part of their Sounds of the World Series, The Winter Park Playhouse has teamed up once again with Barbara Chandler Productions to present Soul Train Live on Thursday, February 5 at 7 pm.
This event will feature the groundbreaking music of the 1970s rhythm and blues, soul, and hip hop scenes.
The event is free of charge and will be held at the Winter Park Public Library in their Edyth Bush Theatre at 1052 West Morse Blvd., Winter Park. Doors open for seating at 6 pm with the performance beginning promptly at 7 pm
A departure from the traditional monthly Spotlight Cabaret Series at The Playhouse, the Sounds of the World Series is part of the theatre's community outreach and celebrates different cultures, heritages and music styles.
In collaboration with Barbara Chandler Productions, this series shines a spotlight on the diverse and unique talent in the Central Florida community.

Founded in 2002, The Winter Park Playhouse is a 501(c)(3) professional musical theatre dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors in Central Florida by producing and developing year-round professional musical theatre programming, in-house and out in the community, that entertains, uplifts, and inspires.
Affiliated with Actors' Equity Association, the professional union of actors and stage managers, the Playhouse maintains high artistic standards and proudly employs professional actors, musicians and technicians.
The dynamic year-round programming includes:
THE MAINSTAGE SERIES: A year-round series of unique musicals, new or rarely produced in the region, all featuring professional actors, musicians and technicians.
THE SPOTLIGHT CABARET SERIES: A year-round series of new cabaret premiers which showcase a different professional singer in a 55-minute "New York" style cabaret each month.
THE FLORIDA FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS: An international festival, the only one in Florida and one of two in the Southeastern Region, that fosters the development of new musicals and the artistic growth of writers and composers. This 4-day event showcases six brand new, never-before-produced musical works.
SPECIAL EVENTS SERIES: A quarterly series of special 90-minute musical events which feature a variety of professional singers and musicians.
REACH (Relevant Educational Arts for CHildren): A community outreach program which engages children in quality musical theatre experiences at under-served day nurseries, Title I schools, libraries and community centers.
SHARE (Senior Health through ARts Enrichment): A community outreach program that brings uplifting, professional musical performances to homebound seniors in life-long care communities.
