Soccer has the power to bring people together across cultures, communities and borders. For Avianca, a member of Abra Group, that passion shares a natural connection with travel and with the airline’s purpose of bringing people closer to the places and experiences that matter to them.

Today,  Avianca, the official airline partner of Orlando City SC of Major League Soccer (MLS) and Orlando Pride of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), continues to strengthen its connection with the Orlando community through its partnership with both clubs. Under the concept “Fly Beyond the Game,” Avianca is bringing together soccer, travel and connectivity to reinforce the ties between Florida and Latin America while bringing fans closer to the teams, cultures and experiences they are passionate about.

On September 5, Avianca celebrated its entitlement game as part of the partnership, bringing “Fly Beyond the Game” to life through an experience designed to connect the airline with fans and the Orlando soccer community. The activation further showcased how the partnership extends beyond traditional sponsorship, creating opportunities for Avianca to engage with fans through their shared passion for soccer while highlighting the connections between Orlando and Latin America.

The initiative reflects a partnership that extends beyond the field, using the shared passion for soccer to strengthen connections between Florida and Latin America. Across Orlando City SC and Orlando Pride, 19 Latin American-born players from Colombia, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Paraguay, Venezuela and Chile create an authentic link with the countries, cultures and communities Avianca serves throughout the region.

“Soccer has an extraordinary ability to bring people and communities together, and that is also at the heart of what we do every day at Avianca. Our partnership with Orlando City SC and Orlando Pride allows us to be closer to fans and connect them not only with destinations, but also with the teams, cities and experiences they are passionate about. Orlando is a strategic market for Avianca, and we are proud to continue strengthening the ties between Florida and Latin America through our network and through a shared passion for the game,” said Rolando Damas, sales director for North America at Avianca.

"Avianca's longstanding presence in Orlando and its role as a bridge between Florida and Latin America aligns closely with who we are as an organization,” said Kelly Hyne, SVP of Brand Alliances, Orlando City SC & Orlando Pride. “Through Orlando City and the Orlando Pride, we have the opportunity to connect with fans from across the region, and this partnership allows us to celebrate the cultures, communities and shared passion for soccer that bring us together. We're proud to continue growing alongside a partner that shares our commitment to connection, inclusion and exceptional fan experiences."

Orlando, a growing gateway between Florida and Latin America

Orlando has become one of Avianca’s most important U.S. markets and a key gateway between Florida and Latin America. Today, the airline operates around 30 weekly flights from Orlando to Bogotá, Medellín and San Salvador. In 2026,  Avianca marks 15 years of connectivity in Orlando, reaffirming its long-term commitment to the market and to connecting travelers across the Americas. This strong presence is also reflected in passenger traffic: between January and June 2026, Avianca transported 180,400 passengers to and from Orlando, a 26.4% increase compared with the same period in 2025.

Orlando’s growth reflects a combination of tourism, family, cultural and business ties with Latin America. Through Bogotá, travelers also have access to Avianca’s broader network across Colombia, South America, Central America, the Caribbean and Europe, expanding the possibilities for both point-to-point and connecting travel.

As Avianca strengthens its presence in Orlando, the airline is also continuing to evolve the experience available to travelers across its network. Business Class Américas is available on Avianca’s international routes within the Americas, including the connectivity offered between Orlando and Latin America, and is designed to combine greater onboard comfort with priority services throughout the journey.

Across the United States, Avianca currently operates more than 400 weekly flights from 14 cities and connects travelers with more than 80 destinations across the Americas and Europe. In 2025, the airline transported more than 4.9 million passengers to and from the United States, representing growth of more than 6% compared with 2024.
