Brace for impact as international pop sensations, Aqua touch down in Orlando this week with the Barbie World Tour!
Life in plastic, it’s fantastic as Scandinavian pop group Aqua continue on a World Tour that due to the worldwide success of the smash hit Barbie Movie, has the pop stars yet again living the dream, 26 years after their pop classic Barbie Girls last topped the charts!
Aqua quickly rose to fame after storming the Danish pop scene with one of the most attention-grabbing melodies in 90’s pop history: Barbie Girl. “Life in plastic, it’s fantastic…” Those tunes, and other Eurobeat-infused Aqua songs rose in the charts, today amassing more than 400 million hits on Spotify and billions elsewhere.
Now, thanks to Barbie Girl being sampled by rappers Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice for Barbie World, the cornerstone of the soundtrack to Greta Gerwig’s wildly hyped Barbie movie, which shares a puckish, satirical take on the perky doll which was surely inspired by Aqua’s own sly song, Barbie Girl.
Tickets are still available for the Orlando show, which sees Aqua take to the stage at House of Blues Orlando on Tuesday, November 28..
