Check out this annual event where the canoes must be constructed using only cardboard and duct tape.

Kelly Park's annual Cardboard Canoe Regatta returns, and you can check out this popular fun event as part of your park admission fee on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
Everyone is invited to watch participants as they build canoes from 8:30 am to 12 pm, using only cardboard and duct tape provided by the park's staff on event day. No cheating!!
Teams race their canoes in the clear, chilly 68-degree waters of Rock Springs beginning at 1 pm, with prizes awarded to Race Winner, Crowd Favorite and Most Spectacular Sinking!
The race takes place in the Rock Springs River at Kelly Park in Apopka, park admission is $3 per vehicle for 1 - 2 people, $5 per vehicle for 3 - 8 people, and $1 for additional person/walk-ins/motorcycles/bikes. es or floats that must be less than five feet in length or width.
