25 Years of Changing Lives: CECO’s ‘Night of Dreams’ Gala marks milestone for Children with Neurological Disabilities

The Conductive Education Center of Orlando (CECO), a national leader in providing conductive education for individuals with neurological motor disabilities, will celebrate its 25th anniversary at the Night of Dreams gala on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Full Sail Live in Winter Park.

The milestone event honors the work CECO has done in conductive education and will raise funds to expand the organization’s impact. CECO’s pioneering platform integrates physical, cognitive and social skills to improve the lives of people with disabilities like cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and spinal bifida. Conductive education is based on the theory that despite damage to the nervous system, new neural connections can be formed through structured, repetitive and goal-directed learning.

As CECO approaches its 25th anniversary, the need for its programs continues to grow. The organization is experiencing heightened demand, with active waitlists across all programs. Families from across the country regularly relocate to Central Florida to access CECO’s specialized conductive education model, a service that remains rare nationwide. In response to this demand, CECO is exploring future expansion opportunities to serve more students, reduce wait times and better meet the needs of families locally and beyond.

“We are thrilled to celebrate 25 years of helping individuals with motor disabilities gain the confidence and self-reliance they need for healthy lives,” said Dr. Krisztina Weiszhaupt, CECO’s Executive Director. “Our conductive education platform is known across the country for building essential academic and daily life skills. The increased demand reflects that impact. The Night of Dreams gala gives us the opportunity to celebrate our successes, build for the future and support the Pete and Lynn DiPasqua Student Scholarship Fund, which benefits 90% of our families.”

CECO’s holistic approach combines physical and cognitive learning through active participation and repetition. It includes extra emphasis on teaching communication competency, which creates the neurological connections needed to learn new skills. Individuals that come through CECO’s programs gain confidence while becoming self-reliant to the best of their ability. Families travel to Central Florida from all parts of the United States to participate.

“We know how life-changing our programs are for our families and individuals,” Weiszhaupt says. “To teach someone a new way of learning allows them to maximize physical independence and strength. This event is so important in the lives of so many of our participants.”

CECO, the Conductive Education Center of Orlando, was founded in 2001. It provides innovative programs for lifelong learning and development that transform lives through conductive education. Based in Orlando, CECO serves individuals and families from across the U.S. The organization currently serves 150 children and adults annually, maintaining intentionally small classes with low student-to-staff ratios.
