As we approach the 10th Anniversary of the Pulse tragedy, Orlando remembers the 49 beautiful angels that were sadly taken from our community.

Pulse Orlando Memorial Events

Pride Month in Orlando features a multitude of events and celebrations, but June has a poignant significance to the local community here in Orlando, as thoughts turn to the anniversary of the tragic events that unfolded on June 12, 2016, a night that evil visited Orlando in the form of a gunman who entered Pulse Nightclub and killed 49 innocent angels and wounded 53 more in what was at the time, the countries worst ever mass shooting.

The Pulse Nightclub shooting is a horrific event that Orlando will never forget, an event that both devastated and brought our community together

This year is the tenth anniversary of the Pulse tragedy, and there is several community-wide remembrance events to remember the 49 angels and uplift survivors, victims’ families and our entire community.

Annual CommUNITY Rainbow Run Orlando

June 6, 2026

The annual CommUNITY Rainbow Run is a celebration of how following the Pulse tragedy, our community came together in love and how we continue to be Orlando United. At the CommUNITY Rainbow Run we unite to honor the 49 angels, their families, the survivors, first responders and all those impacted.  Join the city for the 10h Annual CommUNITY Rainbow Run, presented by Orlando Health. More than a race, this is a celebration of our community's enduring resilience and love.

Net proceeds from the event will go towards the Orlando United Pulse Memorial, a project within Strengthen Orlando, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, with the goal to construct a permanent memorial at the Pulse site.

Prayer Ribbons Memorial Exhibition - Pulse Orlando

June 8 - 14, 2026

Following the Pulse tragedy, Orlando received love from communities around the country and the globe. Ten years later, support is still coming to our community. Artist Jay Critchley from the Provincetown Community Compact in Massachusetts is again sending colorful ribbons with messages of support that were created for our community after the tragedy. The ribbons will be on display in front of City Hall June 8 through June 14, 2026.

Created in Community: Portraits of Pulse

June 11 - August 23 2026

Created in Community: Portraits of Pulse commemorates the 10-year remembrance of the Pulse Nightclub tragedy on June 12, 2016. This powerful exhibition features 49 portraits honoring the lives lost, created through a deeply collaborative community effort. Designed by local artist Jeff Sonksen in a paint-by-number format, the works were completed in 2017 by victims’ families, friends, and members of the Orlando community. Each portrait emerged through a shared process of painting, transforming grief into collective remembrance and healing.

Originally part of the Orlando Traveling Memorial, the portraits reflect the contributions of more than 1,000 individuals and honor multiple tragedies that impacted Orlando in June 2016. After traveling to locations across the city and beyond, the collection was acquired by the Orange County Regional History Center in 2024, ensuring its preservation for future generations.

As you move through the exhibition at the Terrace Gallery, Orlando City Hall, you are invited to reflect on the lives remembered and the enduring strength of a community united in remembrance.

Pulse Remembrance Ceremony

June 12, 2026

As we approach a decade since the Pulse tragedy, the City of Orlando invites the community to gather in a collective spirit of love and remembrance. On Friday, June 12, 2026, the annual Pulse Remembrance Ceremony will take place at the First United Methodist Church in Downtown Orlando. This event honors the 49 angels taken while also recognizing the enduring strength of the families, survivors, first responders, and trauma teams who were forever changed on June 12, 2016.

This evening of reflection will feature musical performances from local cultural artists, and the Orlando Gay Chorus, and a special presentation by City of Orlando Poet Laureate Camara Gaither. This year’s event will also include participation from the Angel Action Wings, a volunteer group that has spent more than ten years spreading messages of love and acceptance across our city.

As the evening concludes, the community will join together for a candlelight ceremony and reading of the 49 names, allowing us to look back on the compassion and unity that continue to define the spirit of Orlando United.
