Birds of North America by Anna Ouyang Moench is a poignant two-character drama that unfolds over more than a decade in a backyard in Baltimore County, Maryland.

TOTE Orlando is officially returning to the stage in April 2025 with their first ever BlackBox Production, Birds of North America by Anna Ouyang Moench.
While Theater On The Edge is renowned for their acclaimed Cinematic Theater Experience, which includes elaborate and immersive sets, Birds of North America will be presented in TOTE’s new BlackBox Production style, where the stage is stripped down to its essentials – a simple black box – allowing the audience to focus entirely on the actors, their craft, and the raw energy of live performance.
Birds of North America by Anna Ouyang Moench will be onstage at Theater On The Edge, 5542 Hansel Avenue, Orlando from April 12 - May 18, with previews on April 5 - 6.
BIRDS OF NORTH AMERICA
John and his daughter Caitlyn are birders. As they scan the skies over their backyard in suburban Maryland looking for elusive birds, years go by. Relationships begin and end. Children grow up and parents age. The climate and the world change in small and vast ways.
Birds of North America takes a close look at the relationship of a father and daughter over the course of a decade as they struggle to understand the parts of one another that defy understanding.
Birds of North America will star returning TOTE alum Elaitheia Quinn (Proof, BOOM) and Allan Whitehead (American Buffalo, Superior Donuts, Orphans). Artistic Director Marco DiGeorge is directing.
Artistic and Set Design will once again be created by the amazing Sam DiGeorge, this time with her first TOTE BlackBox Production!
