Cast members are placing a newly designed nametag over their hearts today, and this design is extra special – look for a gold star on the nametag, representing the cast at Walt Disney World Resort.
Starting today, you will see something new on Walt Disney World Resort cast member costumes – an all-new nametag!
Nametags have been a time-honored Disney tradition for over 50 years at Walt Disney World Resort. For cast members, Disney is a calling to be part of something extraordinary, something magical, something incredibly unique, and our nametags are a symbol that connects us to our guests and each other at The Most Magical Place on Earth.
As a costume designer, Joshua Winchester shared his vision for designing the new Walt Disney World nametag, which was inspired by the combination of twinkly stars and pixie dust’s magic.
“The singular, golden star above Cinderella Castle represents our cast who are the guiding light of the Walt Disney World Resort,” said Joshua, “while the field of stars represents that little sprinkling of pixie dust our cast carry while making magic for our guests.”
The dreamy, misty blues were also inspired by the color palette from the Disney classic animated film, “Cinderella.” For the finishing touch, the nametag also features a glossy finish over the stars for a little glint and sparkle when the light catches.
For decades, Disney nametags have helped cast members establish a family-friendly environment with guests as it carries their name and hometown.
