The train due at the Main Street Station has been delayed... possibly!
Earlier this week it was rumoured that the Walt Disney World Railroad would once again be offering grand circular tours of the Magic Kingdom from New Year's Day, January 1, after a period of four long years of closure, and regular daily testing of the railroad is underway, but five permits were filed earlier this week for construction on all three of the Walt Disney World Railroad stations at Magic Kingdom.
The permits were filled with the Orange County Comptroller on December 19 on behalf of Buena Vista Construction, Disney’s own in-house construction company,
it’s unknown what the work will entail, other than the permits revealing that the the permits cover electrical work and general construction.
It’s unclear what impact, if any, the work will have on the reopening of the Walt Disney World Railroad, and whether the January 1 date will come and go without the railroad opening.
Walt Disney World have said the railroad will open in the first quarter of 2023, so fingers crossed for early 2023, and we can still wish for January 1!!
