- Enjoy a day of great golf, delicious food and good friends at Give Kids The World's Playing Fore Wishes Golf Classic
Drive happiness and hope for children with critical illnesses at Give Kids The World Village’s third annual Playing Fore Wishes Golf Classic. Give Kids The World Village will host a memorable day of golf, giving and memories during the 2025 Playing Fore Wishes Golf Classic at Celebration Golf Club on Friday, May 2. Entries are now open at www.gktw.org/golf , with a variety of sponsorship options available – offering unique opportunities for networking, socializing and branding exposure. Open to golfers of all ages and abilities, this fun-filled event will make it possible for Give Kids The World Village to create life-changing experiences and priceless memories for the families of children with critical illnesses like Ryan. Diagnosed with stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma at just 16 months old, five-year-old Ryan has endured five rounds of chemo, numerous surgeries, five rounds of immunotherapy, two stem cell transplants and 12 rounds of radiation. Following a two-year difluoromethylornithine (DFMO) clinical trial, Ryan was declared cancer-free and celebrated his remission with a visit to Give Kids The World Village in December 2024. “The Village is truly a magical place!” says Ryan’s mom, Morgan. “We felt so welcome and included; we loved all of the fun family activities, especially the model train room. After Ryan’s long battle with stage 4 neuroblastoma, it was amazing for him to be able to play with other kids. The Village served as a reward for everything he has been through. We are forever grateful to Give Kids The World for celebrating this cancer-free milestone with us!” The Playing Fore Wishes Golf Classic kicks off with registration and breakfast at 7:30 am, followed by the shotgun start tournament and on-course contests and activities starting at 8:30 am. A silent auction, awards and a taco bar will follow play. Proceeds will benefit Give Kids The World Village, an 89-acre, whimsical nonprofit resort in Kissimmee, FL, that provides children with critical illnesses and their families from around the world with magical weeklong wish vacations at no cost. More than 30,000 children in the U.S. are diagnosed with a critical illness each year, and half of those who are eligible for a wish choose to visit Central Florida and its theme parks and attractions. Give Kids The World is the nonprofit that fulfills all of these wishes. From life’s simple pleasures to the stuff that dreams are made of, every wish family is treated to an all-inclusive experience including transportation; accommodations; all meals and snacks; nightly entertainment; donated theme park tickets; daily gifts; and nonstop fun at the Village, a storybook destination all its own – featuring an array of accessible rides and attractions. Since 1986, more than 200,000 wish children and their families from all 50 states and 77 countries have been welcomed to the Village to laugh together, play together, and create priceless memories away from hospital stays and medical treatments. The Village is one of less than 1% of all U.S. charities to receive Charity Navigator’s highest rating 18 years in a row, with 92.7 cents of every dollar going directly to programs and services for wish families. - Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts celebrates Eagles Victory at Walt Disney World
He went to Disney World! Most valuable player, Jalen Hurst hss celebrated his Super Bowl victory at the most magical place on earth. The Super Bowl celebration that started in New Orleans late Sunday night took a magical turn Monday when Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts had a super-sized day of family fun at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Making good on his iconic “I’m Going to Disney World!’’ proclamation that is the centerpiece of Disney’s popular Super Bowl commercial airing nationally on TV and social media, the Eagles star quarterback made a whirlwind trip from the Big Easy to The Most Magicial Place on Earth. He spent the day with family and friends enjoying the Magic Kingdom, experiencing signature attractions, interacting with beloved Disney characters and riding in a colorful parade down Main Street, U.S.A. It was the perfect culmination of the Philadelphai Eagles’ post-game celebration, which began immediately after they dethroned the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX at the Ceasars Superdome in New Orleans. Hurts accounted for three touchdowns and set a Super Bowl record for rushing yards by a quarterback, which helped the Eagles avenge their Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs two years ago. Hurts’ onfield performance and celebratory Disney visit were reminiscient of how so many Super Bowl heroes have punctuated their big game victories the day after the Super Bowl. Since Phil Simms first pronounced that he was going to ‘’Disney World’’ after the New York Giants won the Super Bowl in 1987, many of the biggest names in NFL history have celebrated their team’s Super Bowl success with a trip to a Disney park.
