St. Pete Comic Con is a two-day convention that features comics, anime, sci-fi & fantasy – and all things geek.
St. Pete Comic Con is happening this weekend, Saturday, January 7, and Sunday, January 8, and its a true nerd event, featuring comic artists, anime voice actors, and a roster of Florida’s top cosplayers, all under the roof of St Pete's Coliseum in historic downtown St. Petersburg.
Presented by Florida Comic Cons, the convention returns after a successful inaugural event in 2022.
The two-day, multi-genre event will feature comics, anime, sci-fi, and cosplay, with guests including comic artist Christopher Jones, known for his work on major titles like Young Justice, Avenger’s Earths Mightiest Heroes, and Doctor Who. Disney animator Peter Raymundo whose work includes Mulan, Lilo & Stitch, Tarzan, Princess and the Frog and more.
Plus, four of Florida’s top cosplayers are appearing both days and will be hosting panels, judging contests, and meeting fans at their booths.
Guest cosplayers include Dark Lady Cosplay, Amazon Cosplayer, Star Cos22, and Avera Cosplay.
In addition, there will be more than 50 hours of programming that ranges from contests to K-pop dance to panel discussions.
The programming also includes two cosplay contests, a TikTok Film Festival, a lip sync competition, and many panel discussions.
“Geeks and nerds will rejoice at the many and varied offerings at St. Pete Comic Con 2023,” said organizer Dewey Caruthers, who also hosts the successful Anime St. Pete convention at the Coliseum. “We’re excited for St. Pete Comic Con 2023, considering so many people welcomed it last year.”
