In their quest for a new island home, the fabled Waturi people searched high and low for the perfect island paradise, and they found it at Universal’s Volcano Bay water theme park, part of Universal Orlando Resort!


Split into four distinct areas anchored by the towering, 200-foot-tall Krakatau volcano, the park is a stunning testament to the Waturi philosophy: “Water Is Life and Life Is Joy.”


This imaginative water theme park is equal parts vibrant and serene, and resort-like amenities and creative menu offerings only add to the South Pacific island appeal. Sip a specialty cocktail or sample Polynesian delights as you plunge into island life!

Excitement awaits in Rainforest Village, including Kala & Tai Nui Serpentine Body Slides, Maku Puihi Round Raft Rides, Punga Racers, Taniwha Tubes - Tonga & Raki, TeAwa the Fearless River and Ohyah & Ohno Drop Slides. Or, take a relaxing dip in the Puka Uli Lagoon.

Tranquility also abounds at Wave Village thanks to Waturi Beach and The Reef, as does adventure courtesy of Ko’okiri Body Plunge. Then, drift away along the Kopiko Wai Winding River at River Village, which has fun for younger guests and their families at Tot Tiki Reef, Runamukka Reef and Honu ika Moana and excitement for thrill-seekers at Krakatau Aqua Coaster.

Universal’s Volcano Bay further benefits from the innovative TapuTapu wearable technology. Upon entry, you’ll receive a wearable that will change the way you wait in lines, and must be returned at the end of the day. Simply swipe your band against a totem, and you’ll be given a designated time to return. Plus, your wristband will reveal amazing surprises throughout the park!

The centerpiece of the park is Krakatau, a 200 foot tall volcano that features spectacular waterfalls during the day and lava flows at night.

The area located in the park's signature volcano also includes a first of its kind slide attraction Krakatau Aqua Coaster, a water coaster taking riders inside the heart of the Krakatau volcano, before plunging through a shimmering waterfall. It features linear induction motors to propel riders uphill.

Krakatau also features Ko’okiri Body Plunge, a near vertical speed slide with a trap door start that passes through the Krakatau volcano, falling 125 feet, plus Kala and Tai Nui Serpentine Body Slides, a pair of high speed twisting body slides with trap-door starts.

Also featured in Krakatau is Punga Racers, a four-lane racing slide using mats resembling manta rays.

Wave Village

Wave Village is designed for sunbathing and relaxation and includes one and two story cabanas that can be rented by visitors.


Wave Village features Waturi Beach, a wave pool and The Reef, a calmer pool with fewer waves.

River Village

The River Village area contains attractions for families and for younger visitors including, Kopiko Wai Winding River, a lazy river that passes through Krakatau, with decorated caves and effects.

Tot Tiki Reef, a play area designed for toddlers.

Runamukka Reef, three stories tall, a water fortress with its own small slides, Honu, a slide with multi-passenger rafts which sweeps riders up two massive walls and  Ika Moana, a second multi-passenger raft slide.

Rainforrest Village

Rainforest Village features a large number of thrill slides, including body slides and raft slides ridden with multiple riders including Maku, a multi passenger raft slide and Puihi, a multi passenger rafts drop into multiple tunnels,

then two funnels and a final drop.

Also in Rainforest Village is Ohyah and Ohno Drop Slides, body slides with tall drops into the splash pools plus TeAwa The Fearless River, a raft ride simulating white water rafting plus Taniwha Tubes,

a four raft slide ridden solo or in pairs.


A relaxation pool, Puka Uli Lagoonis is also featured.

The Volcano

Towering 200 feet, the mighty Krakatau volcano is the majestic and impressive centerpiece of Universal’s Volcano Bay. Representing both fire and water, the volcano is the heart of this immersive park with cascading falls during the day that transform into lava special effects at night.


Wave Village

Escape to the serene tranquility of the soothing crystal waters of Waturi Beach, nestled at the base of the mighty Krakatau volcano.


Ko’okiri Body Plunge

Partake in an ancient tradition of honoring the volcano god, Vol. You won’t expect the 70-degree fall through a trap door along with 125 feet of thrills. It’s a wild descent that ends with a special water-themed tribute.


The Reef

As brave souls take the Ko’okiri Body Plunge, you can witness them from the comfort of this peaceful leisure pool, which is set beside the waters of Waterfall Cove.


Waturi Beach

Float, splash or swim on a steady flow of ocean waves in a tropical lagoon tucked at the foot of the legendary Krakatau. It’s an expansive, multi-directional wave pool complete with private cabanas for rent.


River Village

A scenic river flows through this South Pacific village. It’s an ideal setting for all ages, especially the youngest in your crew.


Honu ika Moana

Experience the legendary Waturi tradition of riding sea turtles through underwater currents on this multi-person raft ride like no other, featuring twists, turns and swells. Honu swishes up two enormous walls, while ika Moana sprays riders with shots of water springing forth from the middle of the raft. Both rides end with a plunge into shimmering pools of water.


Kopiko Wai Winding River

As you float down the Kopiko Wai Winding River, you’ll stream past a lush tropical setting and even through the volcano, with wonderful surprises awaiting you. Drift past lava rocks and gentle sprays of water mist as you venture to Stargazer’s Cavern, where your TapuTapu lights up with a magical twist.


Krakatau Aqua Coaster

Four-person canoes launch you upward through tropical mists and into dark, winding turns within the volcano. Experience coaster thrills as you surface, then plummet into a refreshing waterfall.


Runamukka Reef

Get playful amidst delightful bamboo sea creatures and swaying seaweed. Runamukka Reef was once an enchanted coral reef under the sea, but it’s now a watery wonderland of bubbling geysers, water pistols, fun slides and dump cups. Kids may never want to leave this reef paradise.


Tot Tiki Reef

Younger Waturis will adore playing on toddler-sized water slides as well as splashing about with lively tikis complete with spraying fountains. Little ones can make whimsical whales spray and sing with just the lifting or lowering of their hands. A mini-sized water volcano tops off the adorable play area.


Rainforest Village

Enter Rainforest Village and discover the perfect blend of thrilling action and serene relaxation. Guests can enjoy raft adventures, zooming drop slides, fast-paced tubes or simply floating in a relaxing pool.


Kala & Tai Nui Serpentine Body Slide

Make the jump! Embark where sea and sky unite on Kala and Tai Nui. Twin trap doors send two guests hurtling side-by-side down clear, twisty tubes. Riders simultaneously swirl through this thrilling ride before plunging into ocean-blue waters below.


Maku Puihi Round Raft Rides

Board a six-person raft that plummets into a deep, volcanic gorge. After a series of unsuspecting twists and turns in the dark, brace yourself for a release as rafts swirl into bowl-like formations.


Ohyah & Ohno Drop Slides

Slowly ascend the side of a cliff, where you’ll be greeted by swirling waters and more. Before you know it, you’ll be zooming down epic slides and experiencing a special ride finale: a 4-foot drop in a pool waiting to catch you below!


Puka Uli Lagoon

Take a dip into the refreshing water while chilling out with the sounds of bongo drums. Cool off with spraying water mists while floating or lounging on a raft in this crystal-clear leisure pool.


Punga Racers

Voyage on manta-ray mats as you glide down four lanes of splash-filled fun through underwater sea caves. Water-filled praise from Punga gets showered on the racer who crosses the finish line first!

Taniwha Tubes - Tonga & Raki

The Waturi mimicked the twisting roots of the towering puka trees, creating specialized water slides known as Taniwha Tubes. Four twisting water slides add excitement and offer unexpected surprises, while naughty tiki statues squirt jets of water when you least expect it.

TeAwa The Fearless River

Hang tight to your inner tubes as you brave a high-speed whitewater ride with plenty of swirling rapids and crashing waves. Get ready for an epic raft adventure!



Kohola Reef Restaurant & Social Club

This airy escape at the base of the Krakatau volcano delights with fresh island favorites, including Mango BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Quinoa Edamame Burgers and Coconut Crusted Fried Chicken.


Kunuku Boat Bar

Refreshing frozen drinks, specialty cocktails, fountains sodas and draft beers are just some of the thirst-quenchers on offer at this permanently beached outrigger canoe.

Whakawaiwai Eats
