  • Tame Impala kicks off new run of the Deadbeat Tour in Florida this week, including Tampa on July 9

Tame Impala is kicking off a new leg of their North American arena tour, with two shows in Miami on July 6 & 7, and a show in Tampa on July 9. Tame Impala is the psychedelic music project of Australian singer and multi-instrumentalist Kevin Parker, and after 2025 and 2026 global sell-outs, Tame Impala is kicking off another run of North American dates in Florida with three sold out shows. The tour begins with two shows at Miami'a Kasyea Center on Monday, July 6 and Tuesday, July 7, before taking to the stage at Tampa’s Benchmark International Arena on Thursday, July 9 at 7 pm. The first half of the tour, including the Miami and Tampa shows will be supported by Djo, marking the first time that the massive artist in their own right have ever supported on a tour. Keep up to date with the latest concert and music news in Orlando and Tampa! From major headlining tours, to local indie music nights, Florida features an eclectic music scene! Catch the latest shows at Kia Center, House of Blues, The Plaza Live, Hard Rock Live, Addition Financial Arena, Benchmark International Arena, Yuengling Center, and more. Late last year, Tame Impala released his fifth full-length album, Deadbeat via Columbia Records. On it, Parker sculpted a collection of wickedly potent club-psych explorations as a vehicle for some of his most direct, brain-wormy songwriting to date, including the breakout hit “Dracula.” The song has now held the No. 1 position at ALT radio and Tame Impala has since released “Dracula (JENNIE Remix).” The song travelled all the way to South Korea and came back reborn with vocals from the global superstar. After releasing Deadbeat, Parker scored a GRAMMY nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Recordingfor the single “End Of Summer” (the only track eligible for the 2026 GRAMMYS) and won the category earlier this month. He also picked up a BRIT Award nomination for International Group of the Year. Tame Impala has had five career GRAMMY nominations and now two wins and has racked up three BRIT Award nominations and a win throughout his career. Prior to becoming tour-mates, Tame Impala and Djo (Joe Keery) teamed up for the “Loser” video. Check out the latest entertainment news and things to do in Tampa Bay here! Discover the latest entertainment news from Orlando and throughout Central Florida. Summer KidFest Movies 2026: Lady & The Tramp - Sun, July 12, 2026 11:30 am From candlelit spaghetti dinners to frantically evading dog-capture, Lady and the Tramp is one of Disney’s most enduring adventures. Set in a cozy New England town, the film pairs Lady—a pampered cocker spaniel struggling to find her place in the home after her owners have a baby—with Tramp, a streetwise stray who lives entirely by his own rules. What begins as an unlikely meeting turns into a whirlwind tour through the city’s hidden corners, as Tramp introduces Lady to life beyond the safety of her backyard. But danger is never far behind, whether it’s the menace of the dog pound, a pack of troublemaking strays, or the chaos waiting back at home. Filled with gorgeous hand-drawn animation, comic set pieces, and one of the most iconic scenes in movie history, Lady and the Tramp captures the excitement of first love while embracing the scrappy unpredictability of the ‘Bella Notte”. Jason and the Argonauts - Tue, July 14, 2026 11:30 am Long before CGI armies and digital monsters took over movie screens, Jason and the Argonauts delivered mythic spectacle the old-fashioned way: one frame at a time. Equal parts adventure serial and fantasy epic, Jason and the Argonauts has inspired generations of filmmakers, from George Lucas and Sam Rami to Peter Jackson and Guillermo del Toro. Directed by Don Chaffey (Pete’s Dragon) and brought to life by special effects legend Ray Harryhausen, the film transforms Greek mythology into a swashbuckling fantasy adventure. The film follows Jason, as he assembles a crew of legendary heroes and sails aboard the Argo in search of the Golden Fleece, a mystical artifact that can reclaim his rightful throne. Along the journey, the Argonauts face harpies, a bronze giant, a multi-headed Hydra, and, in the film’s most famous sequence, an army of sword-fighting skeletons animated through Harryhausen’s groundbreaking stop-motion wizardry. The Sword in the Stone - Thu, July 16, 2026 11:30 am Before he became King Arthur, he was just “Wart” — a scrawny, good-hearted kid getting knocked around the castle grounds and dreaming of something bigger. The Sword in the Stone takes the legend of Camelot and turns it into one of Disney’s most playful and eccentric animated adventures, filled with wizard duels, talking animals, and lessons that arrive in the most unexpected ways. Directed by Wolfgang Reitherman (whose final Disney features was 1981’s The Fox and the Hound) and based loosely on the novel by T. H. White, the film follows young Wart after he falls under the mentorship of the absent-minded but powerful wizard Merlin. Rather than teaching with books and lectures, Merlin transforms Wart into fish, squirrels, and birds, throwing him headfirst into chaotic adventures designed to prepare him for the future. Released over 60-years ago, The Sword in the Stone has endured as a wonderfully oddball entry in the Disney canon. But, beneath all the magic and comedy is a timeless coming-of-age story about curiosity, kindness, and discovering greatness where one least expects it. Spy Kids - Tue, July 7, 2026 11:30 am Released in 2001, Spy Kids launched one of the most beloved family franchises of the early 2000s and showcased director Robert Rodriguez’s ability to blend wildly imaginative, all-ages entertainment with the inventive filmmaking style that had already made him a cult favorite. Crafted in the wake of Rodriguez’s hard-edged hits, Spy Kids blended James Bond-style gadgetry, cartoon energy, and heartfelt family dynamics into a fast-paced adventure that became an instant favorite for a generation of moviegoers. The film follows siblings Carmen and Juni Cortez, played by Alexa PenaVega and Daryl Sabara, who discover that their seemingly ordinary parents are actually retired secret agents. When their mom and dad (portrayed by Antonio Banderas and Carla Gugino) are kidnapped by an eccentric villain (Tony Shalhoub) plotting world domination through an army of robotic children, the kids must step into the spy world themselves to save the day. Featuring a colorful supporting cast that includes Alan Cumming, Cheech Marin, Teri Hatcher, and Danny Trejo in his first appearance as the legendary “Machete”, the film became an unexpected box office smash and launched a franchise of sequels and spin-offs. Join us in celebrating the 25th anniversary of this inventive, action-packed family film. The Muppets (2011) - Thu, July 9, 2026 11:30 am Marking a triumphant return to the big screen for Jim Henson’s beloved troupe of felt-and-fur icons, The Muppets reintroduced a new generation to the magic, music, and heartfelt chaos that made these lovable mischief-makers icons of the 1970s and ‘80s. Directed by James Bobin and written by lifelong Muppet devotee Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller, the film follows small-town brothers Gary (Segel) and Walter — the world’s biggest Muppet fan — along with Gary’s girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams), as they discover that greedy oil tycoon Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) plans to demolish the Muppet Theater. To save their historic home, Walter and friends reunite Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, and the rest of the gang for one last all-star telethon. • International Flights could soon be landing at Kissimmee Gateway Airport as airport eyes major expansion

In huge news for Central Florida's aviation future, Kissimmee Gateway Airport is hoping that international flights could soon be landing and departing from the regional airport. The Kissimmee Gateway Airport (ISM) has received preliminary approval from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations for a User Fee Facility (UFF) designation, a milestone the City and airport have worked toward for years and one that carries significant value for the entire region. The authorization opens the door to on-site international arrivals and departures at Kissimmee Gateway Airport, marking a transformative step in the airport’s growth and Central Florida’s aviation future. Strategically located just minutes from Orlando’s world-famous attractions, Kissimmee Gateway Airport has been investing in expanded airfield infrastructure and systems to accommodate growing aviation demand and attract a broader range of operators. The UFF designation advances that vision by enabling the airport to support new international routes, ease pressure on nearby Orlando International Airport (MCO), and serve as a complementary facility for the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA), accommodating overflow international passengers when MCO reaches capacity. What the Designation Means The preliminary UFF approval is contingent upon the completion of a CBP-compliant facility and the execution of a signed Memorandum of Understanding with CBP. Under the terms of the designation, Kissimmee Gateway Airport will secure the space, equipment, and furnishings required for CBP operations at no cost to the U.S. Government. The designated CBP facility will be constructed and maintained in full compliance with CBP specifications, and robust access controls, surveillance systems, and perimeter protections will be implemented to meet all federal security requirements. Key terms of the designation include: Construction of the CBP-compliant facility must commence within three years from the date of the preliminary approval letter. The airport will work closely with local CBP personnel throughout the full design, planning, and construction process to ensure the facility meets current CBP airport technical standards. CBP and the Orlando Area Port have already commenced coordination with key CBP component offices and stakeholders in advance of the design and construction phases. The airport will collaborate with local partners for design, permitting, and construction, with construction anticipated to begin in 2027 and the facility expected to be operational within approximately two years. The designation was granted based on the current projected volume and value of business Kissimmee Gateway Airport brings to CBP, as well as the support of Florida’s Governor for this initiative. Economic Impact and Regional Vision The UFF designation is expected to generate measurable economic returns for Kissimmee, Osceola County, and the broader Central Florida region. With international passenger processing capabilities on-site, the airport is positioned to attract air service and private operators serving growing demand from Latin America, as Florida continues to solidify its standing as a global tourism and travel hub. The airport’s vision is backed by strong regional support from local leaders, tourism officials, and economic development organizations who recognize its potential to enhance Florida’s transportation network and expand the region’s international reach. By positioning Kissimmee Gateway Airport to better accommodate future growth, the designation is also expected to stimulate related private investment in and around the airport, creating jobs, increasing tourism, and broadening the community’s economic base for years to come. Looking ahead, Kissimmee Gateway Airport is working toward the possibility of becoming a designated Foreign Trade Zone, strengthening its role as a hub for business and international trade. City Manager Mike Steigerwald reflected on the significance of the achievement: “We have worked for a long time to make this happen, and today’s announcement reflects the persistence and dedication of everyone involved. This designation has real value for our residents, our businesses, and our regional partners. We now have the authorization to move forward, and we will do so strategically, working alongside local partners to plan, design, and build the facility that will unlock this airport’s full potential. The opportunities ahead of us are significant, and we are ready.” City Director of Aviation Shaun Germolus emphasized the economic opportunity the designation represents: “We know we have missed economic opportunities, and we understand what the impact of this designation can truly be. The growth in international tourism traffic from markets like Brazil and Argentina is real, and Kissimmee Gateway Airport is positioned to capture it. With on-site CBP services, we will be able to attract businesses that rely on international travel, support our partners at GOAA by accommodating overflow passengers, and serve as a catalyst for economic development and tourism growth across the region. We are eager to get to work.” For more information: https://www.flykissimmee.com Gotta Go Orlando is your local source for the latest entertainment news, events and things to do throughout Central Florida.
