- JoJo’s ShakeBAR Orlando turns patio season into a sunny I-Drive playground of Shakes, Sips, and Nostalgia
As Orlando heads into peak patio season, outdoor dining has become as much about the experience as what's on the menu. JoJo's ShakeBAR at Pointe Orlando is leaning into that shift with interactive activities, nostalgic touches, colorful zero-proof drinks, and over-the-top treats! JoJo’s ShakeBAR Orlando is turning patio season into a colorful summer escape, where Florida sunshine meets nostalgic energy, frozen cocktails, customizable Dirty Sodas, over-the-top desserts, and the kind of larger-than-life fun that makes a regular restaurant stop feel like a mini vacation. Located at Pointe Orlando on International Drive, JoJo’s brings its playful indoor experience outside with vibrant décor, outdoor seating, eye-catching photo moments, upbeat music, warm patio lighting, colorful drinks, and plenty of room to linger. Inside, the brand’s ’80s and ’90s nostalgia continues with interactive details like arcade game tables and a walk-up window, giving guests more ways to make the visit feel like an experience. The patio is built for the way Orlando moves. Families can cool off during the day, groups can settle in before or after a night out, couples can make it a casual first-date stop, and visitors can find an easy, photo-worthy break between theme parks, shopping, convention plans, or a full day on I-Drive. JoJo’s Orlando is also positioned near the Orange County Convention Center, making it a convenient stop for convention attendees and travelers looking for something more memorable than another grab-and-go meal. The summer lineup gives guests plenty of ways to make the patio their own. Brunch is served daily until 2 p.m., the Strawberry Mango Soft Serve Margarita brings a creamy, frozen cocktail moment for guests 21 and older, and customizable Dirty Sodas offer a fizzy, zero-proof option for kids, families, and anyone skipping the booze. Add in the viral Dot Cake Shake, classic diner fare, seasonal cocktails, and Friendship Bracelet Making, and JoJo’s becomes the kind of place where the activity is part of the meal. “Orlando is already such a fun, high-energy place, so we wanted the patio to feel like it fits right into that,” said Robbie Schloss, Co-Founder of JoJo’s ShakeBAR. “It’s bright, colorful, easygoing, and a little over the top in the best way. Families can come by with the kids, friends can meet up for drinks, couples can make it a casual date night, and visitors can stop in and feel like they found something fun along the way.” This season’s menu matches the mood. The Strawberry Mango Soft Serve Margarita is served with a soft serve swirl, strawberry drizzle, edible flower, lime wheel, and cocktail umbrella. Because it is part dessert and part cocktail, the Soft Serve Margarita is made with dairy and reserved for guests 21 and older. For a zero-proof summer sip, JoJo’s Dirty Sodas bring a colorful, customizable option to the patio, while the viral Dot Cake Shake delivers a dessert-forward moment for guests who believe subtlety is overrated. The summer fun continues with the return of Friendship Bracelet Making, a hands-on, all-ages activity that pairs well with brunch, birthdays, family outings, girls’ days, group celebrations, and anyone who still believes choosing bead colors is a deeply personal art form. This summer at JoJo’s ShakeBAR Orlando includes: Pointe Orlando Patio Season. JoJo’s outdoor patio gives guests a sunny stop for family outings, tourist hangs, date nights, birthday celebrations, group dining, post-attraction treats, convention breaks, and I-Drive plans that need one more fun stop. Strawberry Mango Soft Serve Margarita. A cold, creamy summer cocktail served with a soft serve swirl, strawberry drizzle, edible flower, lime wheel, and cocktail umbrella. Made with dairy and reserved for guests 21 and older. Customizable Dirty Sodas. A colorful, zero-proof option for kids, families, non-drinkers, and anyone craving something fizzy, creamy, and made for warm-weather sipping. Viral Dot Cake Shake. JoJo’s take on the internet-famous cake moment brings a bold, dessert-forward shake to the summer menu. Friendship Bracelet Making. A nostalgic, hands-on summer activity for friends, families, groups, and guests. Reservations available on OpenTable. Daily Brunch Until 2 p.m. JoJo’s brunch gives locals and visitors another reason to start the day at Pointe Orlando before heading to nearby attractions, shopping, shows, convention events, or a full day on I-Drive. Private Events and Group Outings. With outdoor seating and a lively Pointe Orlando location, JoJo’s patio is built for birthdays, celebrations, tourist stops, family outings, group dining, casual date nights, and summer plans that deserve more than a basic table. With its colorful patio, nostalgic details, seasonal drinks, Dirty Sodas, Friendship Bracelet Making, daily brunch, viral desserts, classic diner fare, and lively Pointe Orlando setting, JoJo’s ShakeBAR Orlando is giving locals, tourists, families, and groups a sunny new reason to make I-Drive part of their summer plans. JoJo’s ShakeBAR Orlando is located at Pointe Orlando, 9101 International Drive, Suite 1208, Orlando, FL 32819. - Orange County Regional History Center receives grant to preserve Wells’Built Museum collection
Haddock Family Foundation funding will help safeguard irreplaceable African American history. The Historical Society of Central Florida, the nonprofit organization that supports the Orange County Regional History Center, has received a $55,000 grant from The Edward E. Haddock, Jr. Family Foundation to support a partnership with Orlando’s Wells’Built Museum of African American History and Culture focused on preserving and documenting the Wells’Built’s historical collections. The Wells’Built Museum occupies the former Wells’Built Hotel, a landmark in Orlando’s Parramore community established in 1929 by Dr. William Monroe Wells, one of the city’s first African American physicians. During the era of segregation, the hotel welcomed Black travelers who were excluded from most other lodging options. Its guests included many notable figures such as Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie, Cab Calloway, Jackie Robinson, and Thurgood Marshall. The project will help identify, assess, stabilize, and organize materials in the Wells’Built collection using professional archival standards, laying the groundwork for future digitization and expanded public access. The initiative is designed to ensure that historically significant documents, photographs, artifacts, and records are preserved for future generations. “There is something sacred about the work of uncovering stories. Sitting with history, listening carefully, and not allowing voices to fade into silence. It's an act of honor, dignity and love for those who came before and those who came after,” said Rene Vazquez of The Edward E. Haddock, Jr. Family Foundation. “We are deeply moved to have been invited into that work.” The grant supports the first phase of a long-term collections stewardship effort. Planned activities include conducting a collection-wide inventory, documenting the condition of materials, identifying preservation priorities, rehousing vulnerable items in archival-quality storage, and developing a roadmap for future digitization and access initiatives. “Our partnership with the Orange County Regional History Center is about more than a continued collaboration; it is about a continued commitment,” said Elizabeth Grace of the Wells'Built Museum Board of Directors. “We believe it is our responsibility as stewards to make certain that the precious history we have preserved, and been entrusted with, is not at risk of being lost but instead made more accessible and available.” Discover the latest museum and gallery news from Central Florida. The collaborative work reflects a shared commitment by all three organizations to preserving Central Florida's diverse historical record and strengthening public access to community history. “Some of the most important museum work happens behind the scenes,” added Azela Santana, the History Center’s executive director. “By helping the Wells’Built Museum assess and preserve its collections today, we are creating opportunities for future generations to learn from, engage with, and be inspired by these remarkable stories. These materials document experiences and contributions that are essential to understanding both Orlando’s history and the broader African American experience in Central Florida.” The Historical Society of Central Florida is a nonprofit organization that operates and supports the Orange County Regional History Center and serves as a gateway for community engagement, education, and inspiration by preserving and sharing Central Florida’s continually unfolding story.
