Core memories have been uploaded for Tomorrowland cast members as they cut the ribbon to officially welcome TRON Lightcycle / Run presented by Enterprise to Magic Kingdom Park.
Ahead of today's official opening of TRON Lightcycle Run, Walt Disney World cast members, the Walt Disney World Ambassadors, and park executives gathered at the new attraction early Monday, April 3 for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the new attraction's opening.
Following several weeks of cast member previews, passholder previews, and a period of soft-opening, today, Tuesday, April 4, the Grid is now officially powered up, and the ride is finally open to everyone.
Earlier this morning it came as no surprise that the virtual queue quickly reached capacity after just a couple of seconds!
The virtual queue opened at 7 am this morning and reached capacity in around 3 seconds.
Congratulations to the TRON opening team of 140+ Cast Members!!
Magic Kingdom vice president Melissa Valiquette said “This 10-acre expansion of Tomorrowland is a whole new computerized frontier to explore, and another amazing opportunity to discover the thrills Walt Disney World has to offer.”
TRON Lightcycle / Run is one of the fastest coasters at any Disney theme park in the world.
Climb aboard your very own Lightcycle and take off on a high-speed adventure, racing against the Grid’s most menacing Programs. Surge past your fierce opponents as you attempt to cross through 8 Energy Gates and secure your team’s victory.
