A vibrant, storied new piece has been painted at the Disney Springs Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression. Hailing from New Mexico, Nani Chacon is the newest artist to tell a story with her paint brush, creating a mural where each detail holds meaning.
Inspired by her strong Native American roots and just in time for Native American Heritage Month, Nani created a piece that tells a story of the relationship between landscape and indigenous people of the area, something she finds incredibly important and enjoys showing in her work.
For Nani, the opportunity to be featured amongst the works of the other Disney Springs Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression artists was incredibly special. “It meant a lot to me to be able to paint a piece for Disney Springs Art Walk. The opportunity has allowed me to express myself, be representative of my region and given me the ability to share my ideas in a public format,” Nani said as she put the finishing paint brush strokes on her piece.
Earlier this month another mural took its place on the Art Walk, as world famous Brazilian street artist Eduardo Kobra unveiled his mural on November 3, becoming the first Brazilian artist to do so in the shopping, dining, and entertainment district.
The artist, who is considered one of Brazil's greatest muralists and recognized for works around the world, displayed his work on a 95-foot long mural as part of the Disney Springs Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression.
With over 3,000 murals spanning over five continents, Kobra has a distinguished style with unique techniques involving airbrush and spray paint.
His newest piece is a Disney-inspired creation that like other Art Walk murals, is a must-see for Walt Disney World Resort guests.
The Disney Springs Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression features both local artists and artists from around the globe who create murals bursting with color, emotion and the spirit of their cultures.
Guests have the opportunity to see the artists work up close and experience the individual style and voice of each artist.
As more works are added, the Disney Springs Art Walk continues to grow and come to life.
