Celebrate Arbour Day at this weekend’s Arbor Day Tree Giveaway in the City of Oviedo, where they are giving out Sweet Bay Magnolia, River Birch, American Elm, Crepe Myrtle and Holley Trees.
The City of Oviedo will celebrate Arbor Day with a tree giveaway and educational festival on Saturday, May 13.
This FREE EVENT will be happening at Oviedo City Hall, 400 Alexandria Blvd, Oviedo, from 9 am - noon.
The festival will include food and beverage vendors, and fun, educational stations from
the Oviedo Garden Club, Seminole County, FL, St. Johns Water Management District
and many more.
There will be plenty of activities for the kids, including Oviedo Police and Fire Departments who will have trucks out for the kids to see, including the newly wrapped Veteran’s Police Cruiser and the Station 46 Tower Truck.
The City of Oviedo was named by the Arbor Day Foundation as a 2022 Tree City,
USA.
"Tree City USA communities see the positive effects of an urban forest firsthand," said
Dan Lambe, chief executive of the Arbor Day Foundation. "The trees being planted and
cared for by Oviedo are ensuring that generations to come will enjoy a better quality of
life. Additionally, participation in this program brings residents together and creates a
sense of civic pride, whether it's through volunteer engagement or public education."
Two (2) trees per household will be given away, while supplies last.
