Beni the Okapi Introduced to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Savanna

Beni, a rare okapi calf in the care of Disney's Animals, Science and Environment has made his long awaited savanna debut at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge!

After spending several months bonding with his mother Olivia backstage, Walt Disney World resort guests were among the first to witness Beni's first hoof-steps on the savanna.

Beni’s birth is part of the The Association of Zoos and Aquariums Species Survival Plan, ensuring the responsible breeding of threatened species in managed care. This also marks a major milestone for Beni’s care team who have worked for months to prepare him for this special moment.

Stop by the Pembe Savanna at Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge to visit Beni and first-time mom Olivia.
